I cribbed the translated version from online. I wasn't about to sit and translate word for word (although I could have, but it would have taken me too long and too much thought back to classes I haven't taken for two decades or so).

Wolf, you did a great job! I wouldn't have known what is was. Greywethers is probably using a certain translation for the clue. I just googled Vulpis et Corvus and got the one from above. If it wasn't for you.... Very Happy

Ok guys, question.
How can their be so many translations of the same words? I checked out your site Cem (pretty cool Very Happy ) and it's the same as the one I found (besides the few words), but a totally different translation. No wonder I can't get my sh*t straight playing this game. Very Happy Smile Very Happy Smile Very Happy Smile

I guess through the ages it would depend on which language it was translated "from". I think yours lies more in the French version.

I am no expert in Latin, in fact I know nothing of how it translates (we don't take Latin here in Canada)...but I thought I remembered someone at some point saying that it's tricky to translate...

SPEC: Note that came with the Fairy Book

See thread "Note that came with the Fairy Book" I think that the book may be the key to the login:

the note from Sarah stated:

Quote:
A book of beautiful pictures
Numbers of fairies and elves on each leaf;

and the e-mail to Dale on May 30 from psammead said:

Quote:
perhaps by counting pages
and writing down names you find...
...the plus sign has a purpose
but it's not to find a sum

Maybe taken together the book and the equasions will give us a login or multiple logins.

I think the password starts with a "S". Here is part of one of the emails from psammead.

the password starts with an alias
another name by which I'm known
with letter pairs to be removed
to be left with letters eight alone

the alias of greywethers was standing stones and we removed the pairs and are left with these 8: adnigoes.

So if the alias starts with the "S", so would the password (that is if I'm interpreting the above correctly Very Happy ). Does anyone else see something different?

SPEC: Greywethers, Small Dean possible ID

Except for the lines I've underlined. At greywethers the words become "fere dan"

"Small dean (sic)" ?

Very Happy Laughing
Found it Exclamation

Subject Phone call from Sarah
At the end was a beep. I hit 4 on my keypad (hoping I could get the message to repeat) and heard "select 1 for your options".

This lead to a recording of "This is Greywethers, also known as small dean (sic) ".

Could this lead to the login ID being "fere dan" or Small Dean?

I see it as it "Starts out" with an alias/another name by which I'm known.
It starts with it but doesn't "end" up the way it starts out...after transforming it, or would that be "transmuting" it or "transmutating" it...lol
....you know what I mean Smile

my poems, it seems, have failed at best
and none have yet to pass the test
and still, there are rules I must abide
and so another way I've tried

perhaps words not numbers will show the way
and lead beyond, inside the grey
for time is fleeting, our chances wane
and rising winds spin the weather vane

where numbers may have stopped your path
a new way lies, devoid of math
step by step you must progress
before any truths I may confess

So maybe this won't give us a login clue....maybe we have to figure out where to go from here (as in next step)?

And what's the green "e" for? Rolling Eyes

I thought of that too. I tried replacing the vec.html with Aesop.html. No luck.

Here's another part of one from psammead:

but there's one for each yet two per one
on every page of signs and sums

so pay attention in your passing
a name can tell you many things
"a ragman" you're not looking for
it's time to do some ciphering

How would someone interprete the underlined part?
