[spec] Odd page found through cluesearch

Since we have seen a few posts from Titania (i.e. the fairie queen)
I put that in as a search term and came up with this page:
http://www.sirbacon.org/links/spenser2.html

the frontis page of Spenser's Fairie Queen...
but with a string of blue numbers added to it, a portion highlighted in yellowm and on the other page "Knight" and "Red Crosse" underlined in red.

Possible in game site?

Here is a link to the book on-line. Haven't had time to read it yet.

Since the posts from Titania have been on the unf forum site, wouldn't they be out of game?

That's what I've been assuming.

Otherwise, we'd be trying to get Dale et al to join Unf or CD to collaborate directly with us there.

Could be that someone is trying to interest folks for another ARG, similar in nature.

It's a Francis Bacon Mega Site....
http://www.sirbacon.org

On the blue numbers:
Quote:
The title page of Edmund Spenser's Fairie Queen embodies the tragedy of Francis Bacon's life.

It carries the numerical signature 33 (Bacon) in three places. The word Bacon adds to 33 by B=2,A=1,C=3,O=14,N=13. This is the simple numerological cipher. These cipher messages were placed in the books either by Bacon or his select contemporaries to reveal to the initiated the presence of concealed information.

The blue numbers are the number of words in each line added up to 33(Bacon).

On the underlined Knight and Red Crosse
Quote:
The author is termed an "Arch-Poet", a reference to the "Royal Arch" of Masonry of which he was the founder. 33 is also a sacred number that enters into the Higher Degrees of Masonry and the Rosicrucian Ritual.

The title page to "Spenser's Works indicates that the author was a member of the Rosicrosse Literary Society under whose auspices the book was published."

So I think they are just examining the book on that page.
