Have you logged into the site recently, or do you just jump to door_to.php every time? It does need a login remider every so often. (More importantly, as the login page now explains, there was an error in the original account creation page - you can make changes to your account from there, including re-establishing your e-mail address.)
The word "fare" in door_to.php leads to good ol' 4.htm - no changes to that page, by the way. I'm guessing we have to come up with some permutation of Styx the Ferryman of the Dead, because that's the first river fare that comes to mind.

Yeah, I do log in every time, and updated my contact info ages ago....
And I agree.....Styx/Charon/Obols are the things that come to my mind as well, although I haven't found anything that works. The fact that "fare" takes you to 4.htm (I added it to the updated list) suggests to me that it's definitely not a spelling error.....otherwise it would just take us to the error page.
Any ideas on the morse?

Styx was the river itself, Charon was the ferryman (or, if the creator of this puzzle-thing happens to be into anime, maybe Botan).

Entering "fare" now takes you to yet another door_to.php page
("river" also works)

Actually, yes. I used a cgi morse code translator , which translated that as an actual question mark. So, the message comes as "cq cq qrz qrk?" with the added space.
I need an all-purpose ROT app, either online or compilable for Red Hat Fedora Core 1. (I have Windows in another partition, but I don't really use it.)

Aha....so I did translate it correctly (as far as letters go) but was hung up on the morse version of a question mark...lol
Now what do we do with it?

I use the one in the online tools section HERE

After entering "fare" I noticed the background had changed to 160.jpg.
So I went back to pollux.htm and there was a couple of updated comments in the SC:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

there are 1e 100 ways to find what you need (ROT 18 )

this is the only time I will use his number (Read Backwards)
E.T.A. I just noticed the title of pollux has changed from "lune" to "lune uwzmpqvba"
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
uwzmpqvba ROT 18 to "more hints"
Using this info I went back to http://daemon.chaoseed.com/gi0.htm
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
garzny
ROT13 and read backwards is "lament"
ravy sb qar
ROT13 and read backwards is "end of line"
First one:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"lament" takes us back to the old MWT page with the "jan termin" skull, and the text box but is now titled "lament.htm"
Second one:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"end of line" takes you to 4.htm
Believe it or not, I actually input something and can't remember what it was.
It was "wunder"....and "cq" takes you there as well.
But took me to a new version of the "door_to" page that was Titled:
k bk
And had this on the black page:
qrv qru?
On the "door_to" page that you get when entering "fare" or "river":
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Either I missed it or the page has been updated with
gwcuqaamlawumbpqvo
youmissedsomething
And:
jbe: ow jiks ivl twws ioiqv-
btw: go back and look again-
I'm not positive, but I don't think those were there earlier when I noticed the background change. So I've missed something at pollux? (where the background image hails from).
ETA: Yes I did.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I assumed that the two text strings above the number were the same as before (what does this number mean, what does it look like).
But the bottom line has changed to:
what does the picture look like

Q Codes QRZ * By whom am I being called? You are being called by ..
QRK What is the legibility of my signals (1 to 5)? The legibility of your signals is ... (1 to 5).
CQ is calling all the stations in a radio network.
Hope this helps

That is so cool......and yes it does help.
So the morse reads something like:
"Calling all stations, Calling all stations"
"Who is hailing me?"
"What is the readability of my signals?"
160.jpg has changed, I still can't tell what they're asking for....and have tried numerous constellations and astronomical terminology.
Entering "cq" also leads you to the page that is titled "k bk" with the text "qrv qru?".
Using the new info:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
QRV - Are you ready?
QRU - Have you anything for me?
Not sure about the "k bk"

K is over.

Great Job Hati!
Title update at gi0.htm:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

ROT13 backwards:
bank of the river
Thought this was interesting, albeit a no-go:
Eridanus is known as the Celestial River.
It is said to represent the river Po into which Phaethon drowned.
Still no luck identifying 160.jpg
I think this:(on pollux)

Is telling us to "google" as 1e100 is a googol (1 followed by a hundred zeroes)

Well Caterpillar, my brain is mush I thought I would follow in your footsteps. But now I am stuck. However some points for your consideration.
1) the tu l'aitake phrase might be Hawaiian. Or A Native American language.
2) Has a protagonist emerged? or is this just a puzzle game?

1) I tried to translate that bit with little luck.
2) I'm not sure, there is some talk of "him" and "her". Seems there are two of them judging by the "she is not happy you haven't broken her code " and the "his number is thirteen " (among a couple of other small things).
I think it's more puzzle than plot, but if life is busy I sometimes prefer something I don't have to keep a close eye on, and can pop in at leisure.
3) Welcome aboard!
4) Apparently they're fed up with us not getting 160.jpg, cuz it's gone.....just a big black hole now....

I think I figured it out.
160.jpg isn't some fancy keyword we're supposed to figure out.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Remember this string?
214 174 160 173 160 207 121 160 225 246 229 250 173 246 239 245 243 160 244 242 239 245 246 105 160 227 229 244 244 229 160 240 232 239 244 239 191 160 173 160 208 174
160's space.
Which gives us:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
214 174 _ 173 _ 207 121 _ 225 246 229 250 173 246 239 245 243 _ 244 242 239 245 246 105 _ 227 229 244 244 229 _ 240 232 239 244 239 191 _ 173 _ 208 174
The problem is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The gap between 160 and 32 is 128. Some numbers are clearly less than 128. So, we have more decoding to do. Still, it's probably a step in the right direction, and any other hints that pop up in such a manner should prove useful.
...I hope. ^_^;;;;
