When you are not ARG'ing or playing Halo 2... Appropriately, it's a stormy night. Just started raining, and as I began to type this there was a flash of lightening and the roll of thunder.
If at any point you find yourself NOT working on an ARG or playing Halo 2 you should ...
a) See National Treasure . It's not the new Indiana Jones by any means... But still good. If there's ever a movie for ARG'ers, this is it.
b) Read the Illustrated Edition of the Da Vinci Code .

Just finished the non illustrated version which is a pretty excellent book. No lightning out here, but a dark and stormy night in the deep country....ah, the goodness of life

Pick up some new music. Write a screenplay. Try to make more money.

Hmmm, the double post was strange... I didn't think that other thread was actually posted.

Really? 'cause the trailers made it look like it is not a movie for people who think. My understanding from the trailer is that Columbus brought a treasure to america which he gave to the founding fathers despite never having been in the same place or time.
Then again, they went out of their way to make a promotional tie-in with the mythbusters. Seems like they would not want to do that unless it has a certain amount of defendability.
Not Columbus, but there is a treasure and it relates to the founding fathers. (The movie gloms onto the fact that many of them were Freemasons.)
Well, I wouldn't say that the movie challenged me personally on an intellectual level... But something about the characters made me smile and think of all of us. As I left the theatre I was thinking how I had to come here and post about it.
When I was talking to somebody else who had just seen the movie, they asked me, "So is that kind of like what you were doing with that whole "i love bees" thing?"
And I was like, "Yeah, only, it was mostly online and I didn't keep running into Sean Bean... Can't have everything I guess."

I know this belongs in another thread, but ...
...when you read that last sentence as "Try to make more honey"
also: ...if you know which thread I'm referring to!

Well, I don't know about y'all, but right now, I'd rather be making out.

I'm still in the middle of it. So perhaps the disappointment is yet to come.
As for right now, it's not The Best Book I Ever Read (TM), but I'm enjoying it and I don't feel like I wasted my money on it.

Mmm. I'll be interested to know what you think when you're done. I was slightly skeptical, but willing to play along, until (I think it was around...) chapter 72.
It has been said that I'm a snob.
On the other hand, being labeled a snob doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong.

Yes, it only means that you won't believe it when you're wrong.

I enjoyed DaVinci Code, but I thought Angel & Demons and Deception point were much better. Digital Fortress is a pretty good quick read as well. All by Dan Brown.

Still have yet to read Deception, but the other 3 books I found quite entertaining. HitsHerMark, if the illustrated is the same story and you have not read the original, you won't be disappointed. Its a thinker. Unless you let your religious beliefs blind you, it should prove an interesting read.

The writing for Da Vinci Code may have been crap, but when you're on a cruise, and there's a loud contest happening on the Lido deck where drunk bikini-clad girls have to try and make animals out of beach towels ... it's good reading.
And yes, I totally thought it was basically an ARG, in book form. Fluff is good, and necessary, I think. Having a Utopia of good literature 24/7 is problematic, because then satire and comedy tend to suffer.
