i'm currently specing that this all ultimately leads to us being given a wish to put things right again. because of the potential number of different wishes that players may have, it's possible that this will manifest in advice that we give an in-game character who then decides what the wish will be, thereby avoiding the logistical nightmare for the pm's of granting a wish for each player. considering how much farther we have to go in this game (it's rumored to last six months) i wonder if our ultimate goal will have much, if anything, to do with dale himself, and more to do with universal themes and save-the-world type stuff. who knows, it's still early, but that's where i think we're heading Smile

re: SPEC: endgame

I was actually just thinking about this topic as well, so I'll put in my couple of cents:

The game is called 'Chasing the Wish,' which leads me to believe we'll encounter more evidence of Wishes beyond just Dale over the six or so months of the game.

As a result, instead of someone wishing to reverse Dale's wish, I think it will end up being a wish to end the granting of wishes, and stopping the supernatural influence on our world.

Or not, as the case may be.

All I know is there are a lot of people I'd rather not see get a wish granted...

I love the world wide "chase" option. However, I've been thinking that maybe it's going to be a way of showing Dale that things, perhaps, are for the best in this case. Re-reading his journal, it really seemed as if his wife had a negative influence on his life....made him forget his values, become too competative/greedy/materialistic. This is compounded by the recent spec of her having an affair with Bruce. The Wish simply help push Dale forward to see that he can have happiness in his life, and gives him a new chance.

The biggest hole in this spec is trying to explain losing his daughter as well...but perhaps not everything can be 100% sunshine and happiness.

I think part of the problem is the way the wish was worded to begin with.

He asked for money (with no description of how he received it) and for Diane not to know how he got it. The second part was granted, i.e. car accident, and maybe so was the first part, i.e. a loan from Sons of Don? Maybe starting synthasia was part of the wish as well?

Maybe what he should have wished for was to write his novel and be published.
