Well, I suppose I should do the same. I've been following since the theatrical trailer led me to I love bees, but my attempts at participating were thwarted by Real Life and bad luck. Thanks to everyone who gave a lot of time to this...and for welcoming us lurkers to the community . I know that because of I love bees my Xbox live friends list has already grown from 1 person to about 20 and beyond, so thanks guys.

I was rereading this thread, and wondering...with 6500 downloads of the ILB DVD material, does anyone else want to delurk?
I'm starting to become very curious about how many people silently followed the whole thing...

I guess that makes you a very curious girl.
But seriously, the only reason I registered here was because I saw that there was someone else in Maine answering axons. I didn't even say anything 'til the whole thing was done. I know that there's a vast amount of people that aren't even downloading the torrent, in hopes of getting a pressed DVD (I'm noe of them). There are more beekeepers in the world than you might think.

I followed silently until after the game finished. Unfourtunately due to work, school, and living in Canada I seldom had enough luck or time to help out. All of the puzzles were solved before I had even heard of them, and even though I tried to get an axon up here, I was not able to make it out (across the border) to answer any phones.
P.S. The PMs claim that it Candian payphones can't take incoming calls, but the one near me does. It's in a university residence. Most of it's calls are incoming!

I guess they would have better answered "there's no easy way to determine which payphones accept incoming calls in Canada"... it's unfortunate, but probably true...

Yeah, they could have at least tried to call it! I really wanted my own axon!

I for one wish I could've participated...although I am close to Detroit, which had some axons, the fact that I have no car made it impossible for me to actually get to any of the phones (well, and the fact that I work most of tuesday). Sucks, but I appreciate the dedication of those that DID get out to those, and solved the puzzles that had me completely stumped.

Since ILB came to a completion on November 4, word about it has spread to people who had no idea about the game during it's run or didn't have time to keep up with the hectic schedule. I'm sure a lot of those downloads came from those groups.
QBKooky, from everyone here who was involved in ILB, you are heartily welcome.

I actually lurked the opening chunk of the game, popping into IRC once in a while for light discussion but otherwise not getting too involved, mainly because I wasn't well-versed enough to be a staple in solving puzzles and there were no axons nearby. I jumped into the community at about the second half, and I'm very glad that I did. Now krystyn sends me haunting voice messages about flaming chunks of ravaged Earth decimating her ocular cavities where once her eyes were, all while I'm already suffering delusions under the influence of Satan's SuperCold. Life doesn't get much better.

I never knew that I managed to make sleep deprivation sound so ... apocalyptic . Goodness.
Jinxie, you better get well soon! Although your fevered ramblings during games are kinda cool. I am torn on the state of your health!

Even though I have quite a lot of posts now, most of my posts are post halo2 launch.
I was mainly a lurker during ILB. I had about 30 posts discussing ILB wavs after they were released, but since I'm awful at specing and even worse at puzzle solving, I didn't post much.
I have one big regret though. I should have gone to the Chicago training event. It's not a huge drive from Detroit, where I live and I would've met some of the people I enjoy the most on Live! Instead, I went to a local mall to get the DVD disc (which I got, at least). Big mistake! I was rereading the thread about the Chicago event and I want to kill myself now!

Waters, we definitely need to do another Chicago gathering of some kind, and you must definitely be there. I say so.
