Actually I'd have to search for it because I think I lost it, but I have a really important question for you, so could you please pm it to me? Thanks

Ok, well do we want to have people edit their own list, or have a couple of admin contacts who would take requests and make the changes? (I'd recommend the latter)

I think the latter with a side thingy (like a bio or something) which the person can edit themselves.

re: beekeeper connections listing

I'll try to get something up for the end of the week. I'm literally swamped with responsibilities, outside of work, but I should have some free time between now and saturday to get something working. I won't be making anything nearly as comprehensive as the gamertag database website, at least right now, because there's no need. But a fairly simplistic listing of known beekeepers and easy ways to contact them, with quicklinks to forum PM, profile, gamertag, and maybe an email link if entered... basically just a quick contact list, maintained by one or few well known trusted people

Ok, I'm nearing completion of a system here...

Now, it can grow and expand as needed, but I just need to clarify a few points...

So no one can view the list unless they've been given access - ie you need to login to see the list (lots of confidential contact info and such, and it keeps out the spambots and spiders)

There will be a couple or few moderators who will ultimately be given the power to choose whether someone has access or is listed or not.

After logging in, you simply choose a letter to view the listing of people there (more list types can be generated as needed, say by email or searches and such)

Currently the information I've got recording is:
Common name (generally known internet alias)
Gamertag
Full name (real name)
Email
Homepage URL
Photo URL
unFiction profile URL
Other IM client references (like the MSN email, or AIM handle, ICQ #, etc - this can be any number of entries)

Nothing is required except an Email address (your login) which can be chosen to not display in the listing. You can also have access to list, and not be listed if you wish (and the moderators agree).

Members can send messages to the moderators, which are essentially listed in a queue (not sent by email) for them to review regularly - so this would include information changes like emails and links and such. I'm not making this automatic in order to maintain a level of trustability in the content, ie everything is basically verified by a person first.

So, the questions now. How should people sign up? Fill out a new user form with all the information and await a moderator's approval? Or send a nudge to a moderator to contact the person and get the information so the moderator can add the member manually, or make it entirely an 'invite only' type of thing, where there's no 'new user' form at all, and you basically have to contact a moderator yourself directly in order to get access or get listed.

Is there enough reason to actually have your own user information editable yourself? Or do we want to keep this as personable and trusty as possible by having everything go through the moderators?

Once complete I'll likely post a new thread where people can 'nominate' moderators, if they're willing to maintain the list...
