Yes. I hope it doesn't become too effective and people start abusing it. By people, I mean everybody, not us in particular.

If they do, I think Bungie will patch it. I know they spend a lot of time balancing the game, and I'm guessing if something gets out of line, I think they'll deal with it.

Well, how many times can you get the rocket launcher AND the energy sword on the same map at the same time...not very often.

It's not THAT hard on zanzibar. And on custom maps, it's fairly easy, especially if you're doing random weapons.

But yes, I see your point. I still think they'll patch it if it becomes a problem.

Have we tested with other weapons, other than rockets? Just wondering if it's possible to do with other weapons.

Right now it's just a cool trick useful to explore strange places on the map! And I hope it remains like this, because well, it's cool! Cool

I believe people have tried it with other weapons. The problem with other weapons is that there aren't many where the reticle actually turns red when you're tracking an enemy. If you can't get a red reticle, you can't use the trick. Thus, it limits severly the ability to use it with other weapons.

As far as I know, neither sniper rifle turns red, nor do any of the dual-wield weapons. Feel free to check it out for yourself, and prove me wrong though. If we could do it with other weapons, it'd be nice.

I can barely do it with the rocket right now! Laughing

Oh, one question. Does it work when you're zooming in with the rocket launcher? That would increase the range by a lot!

The other weapons turn red if my memory serves. It's just that you have to be in range and it seems that the RL has the best range unzoomed. Hense the reason it's used.

Note: I could easily be wrong, but this is my best assumption using only my knowledge of the game considering I'm not currently playing it ... sadly.

No it doesn't work while zoomed because when you push the Y button it unzooms you and messes everything up

To my recollection, I don't think the sniper goes red zoomed out, but I honestly can't remember for sure. Everything else doesn't have a long-enough range to get the lunge to work, I think. At least, for purposes of lunging to mid-air vehicles and high clifftops/rooftops.

I'm fairly certain the weapons all go red when non-zoomed... but like Krystyn says, range is important. Timing could be an issue, too... the rocket launcher being huge like it is most likely is what causes the glitch in timing. When you swap away from the sniper rifle, it goes away too quickly and would probably not allow for the timing of the lunge. (I.E. you'd get a sword-ranged lunge, as usual.)

I'll try it tonight... anybody care to be "reach out and Snuck"'d? Twisted Evil

I've heard of people doing it with the Battle Riffle, but they do say afterwards that it is easier with the Rocket Launcher.

Great game tonight guys! God, I should have been in bed 2 hours ago, but that was too much fun!

And Krystyn, I'm sorry for jacking you, splattering you and everything else I did... everytime I turned around you were there, I swear!

My arch nemesis speaks only lies! His only joy is found in torturing innocent souls beneath the fiery tracks of his tank.

I swear upon this sword of plasma that I shall not rest until this traitorous beast has been slain and returned to the infininate depths...

*note: angelo should probably not read quite so much Tolkien...*

Ow, my head! Wink

I had fun tonight, yesh yesh. I flew around, I splattered, I played headbutt with angelo, and I proclaimed my loyalties. Also, brute shots are really fun in Ivory Tower.

There was much more flaming warthog goodness to be had, as Driver Krystyn and Gunner TridenT went spiraling, cartwheeling, flipping, rolling, and otherwise gyroscoping across Coagulation in a firey reunion of Team Poo! (Of course, my itchy trigger finger was tough to control at the gunner position... but I did my best, honest injun!)

And, of course, it isn't a Beekeeper night if someone doesn't get Snuck'd.

And just after I left, to be certain, I plugged in a player two and successfully managed the Rocket Lunge, both at elevated foe and floating Banshee alike! It's awesome!!

Bah, those souls prefer the tracks of my tank to watching you voilate it as you did. I was sparing them their sanity. They were practically begging for it.

And swear all you want... for it shall take more than you and your sword of plasma to send me back. I will be waiting for you... just watch your back.

Bah, you get Tolkein, and I get Zelazny. Tolkein sounds so much better.
