Just as a word of warning. You cannot do this if they are in your clan. (At least, not if you are staff.)

There are one or two persons I'd love to send feedback on who are in my clan, but since Incitatus made me Staff, I no longer have that option. Crying or Very sad

You and I are probably unhappy with some of the same people. I remember playing with you the other night and everyone was yelling to kick you from the game cause they thought you were ganking people while we were getting shown all the mad exploitz on various maps. (It was actually Siege88).

Heh, it was Siege, and ThaJinx's brother, who was guesting on Jinxie's account. It's all good, though. Even if temporarily annoying.

Aye, 'twas me demonic younger sibling. I've banned him for life, so it won't happen again.

This weeks silly challenge by me (this one is usefull as well)

Dance Class!

In game, as in life, I seem to be haveing troubles recently with the danceing. the halo one i mean is the "gus a blazin" dance between two players which is the basis of all smg engagments. (get within 5 feet hold down the trigger, try dodgeing his fire while keeping yours on target) This tends to be either a circleing walts or a side to side disco. either way i seem to be loseing these dances more and more often, not sure what im doing wrong and would like to practice this essential skill and im sure im not the only one that could benifit from the practice.

so, shall we dance?

Sigh... I'd been in a really good mood till now too. Oh, and my Live headset broke tonight too. The clip that holds the earpiece to the headband just snapped right in half.

Same thing happened to me. If you have had it for less than 90 days, or "just bought an extra communicator" then call xbox support and they will repair/replace it for you.

Alternately you could try getting the plantronics halo headset. I hear that they are quite comfortable.

Have you tried to up your look sensitivity? That really helps, particularly in the "circle waltz". If you can spin faster than your opponent they will spend more time trying to keep up with you than firing on you.

We can set up some FFA slayer or Team Slayer matches to pratice this. I like to play some team slayer matches once in a while anyway. What decides this close range combats is: weapons you're using, your accuracy and who starts to shoot first!

A good tip is to pick your fights wisely! I used to die a lot because I would just follow any red point on my radar and more than often, I'd get in some very tough situations. I'm decreasing my death number by chosing when and where to attack! Set up ambushes on every corner and you'll have a better chance of killing somebody.

If you can, aim for the head, specially when you're using Pistol + any other weapon.

The 2 beaver creek slayer matches we had yesterday were good to practice close range combat. The first one included magnums and shotguns. The second one only shotguns.

On the shotgun match, me and Clayfoot had a nice run while sticking together behind one of the bases. Once in a while, I would go through the teleporter and come back immediately, just to attract somebody with me and double team the victim! I think I got at least 3-4 kills doing this.

I should have known something wrong when 2 of my 3 other team members started babbling into their mics even before the game started:
"getoffmegetoffmegetoffme" "stopshootingmestopshootingme" etc.

The game starts up and these two assholes start running around and shooting at me (keep in mind they are my teammates), all the while babbling the same thing over and over again. They both killed me, I ejected them both. By that point the other team had unsurprisingly scored 2 of the 3 necessary points. I regretfully settled myself to pairing off with the last remaining team member.

THEN HE STARTED DOING THE SAME DAMN THING.

I ejected him too. Me solo with zero scores against 4 capable opponents who had already scored twice. Guess how it ended. I hate people.

On the bright side It's times like this when I remember why playing with you guys is so great.

Yeah, unfortunately you'll run into some people like that. I don't know what level you're at, but judging by the smacktards you got teamed with, I'd wager it's not too high. The beautiful thing about the skill level system is that people like that don't seem to win games. And once you get to a little higher level, you'll find yourself out of the muck in which those kinds of idiots reside. I'd probably say that above level 5 or 6 are people who actually want to play Halo 2, and not just screw with anyone unfortunate enough to be matched with them.

The only things I could tell you are make sure you're not single-wielding against someone with 2 SMGs. Always aim for the head. The torso may be easier to hit (especially since the SMG's walk makes it tough to keep your target right on someone's head), but you'll do way more damage to the head. And try to play with a higher look sensitivity. It'll probably be tough to get used to at first, but once you get the hang of it, it'll really help you out. Other than those things, just practice, practice, practice!

I'm sure you knew all that already though, so go ahead and tell me to shut up. Smile

I think I'm a level 6 at the moment in team skirmish. That match probably would have put me to a 7, but given the circumstances...

Yeah thankfully people such as this are rare. But they're the hazard of semi-anonymous online play I guess.

I have played around with look sensitivity, I was playing with a rather high one, like 9 but found i couldnt keep it under control durring the sniping trainings we did so i lowered it, so i may have to up it again. Also I am a fully experienced gamer and understand the dance moves so I guess what I was getting at is maybe it would be usefull to identify specific things to do to win these dances. so a few concepts to think about.

Range - It is apparent that some weapons have a varying degree of effectiveness depending on distance. for example the shotgun. at (example distance) 10feet it takes 3 or 4 shots for a kill, at 5 feet 2 shots, and point blank 1. so when is the best time to fire? is it better to hold off on your first shot untill you are in point blank ranger and take the first hit at 5 feet but also risk them getting the close in 1 shot kill?

best attack plan - engage and circle, engage and move side to side (although i tend to run strait at them, lowering his sheilds then mele attack him before he can kill me)? is jumping usefull or better to keep your feet on the ground?

weapon combos and uses - Im not sure if this really works, but when dual weilding plasma rifle and smg, it seems like if you hit your opponent with the plasma a few times first, without firing the smg, that it lowers thier sheilds faster than with both. so something like 5 shots with the plasma rifle then start in with both plasma and SMG seemed to end the engagemnt alot fast than with both blazzing at once. this could also be an effect of not dealing with recoil with the plasma alone and accualy hitting them....

In anycase i guess im looking to learn the very specific things that people do to not get killed.
