ANOTHER DREAM FOR PHYLLIS

Dear Pam,
I don't mind your calling me Phyllis at all. I think we're going to be
email "buddies." I'm not sure that these poltergeist phenomena are
related to
ghosts. Certainly, a few people have passed over in this old house but
that
doesn't explain why books would jump off shelves in a brand new Library
building or why the merchandise in the Emporium of the Weird is
rearranging
itself or why this kind of thing is happening all over our township.

However, your suggestion that my lucid dream might have been activated
by this
atmosphere is very interesting. I have naturally given a great deal of
thought
to the nature of these spirits. How can I not?! They are forever
reminding me
of their presence by thumping on walls and moving objects hither and
yon. They
appear to want to provoke negative reactions and then draw strength
from those
emotions. The other day when I had to endure a spell of the cold fear
and
dread, I wondered whether I was having a reaction or whether I was
feeling what
the spirits feel. It's hard to put that right. Do you see the
distinction I'm
making? It's not that the coldness is aloofly causing the fear. It's
that the
coldness itself is afraid. Does that make sense? It's as though
something is
bubbling up out of the ground in this area, something that has been
roused by
its fear, and is trying to communicate with us all.

If that is so, then the happiness I felt from my dream might indicate
that the
thing I was reaching for is part of the solution for putting these
spirits to
rest. Now, one of my other correspondents suggested the thing I was
reaching
for in the dream may well be a mysterious red disc. I now believe that
is so
because I had another dream the following night about the circle of
stones.
Only this time I was like a bird, floating on the wind, above the
circle. Down
below I saw a young man and woman enter the circle and begin to search
through
the bushes near it. The young man found the disc! I could see the
redness of it
in his hand and he was very happy, just as happy as I'd been when I
reached for
it. I saw something else the young couple didn't see. They were being
watched
by a pair of shadowy figures in the entrance of a nearby building. I
recognized
the watchers. Well, not personally, but I have seen their type around
our town.
I wanted to warn them but, I woke up. Now, what is the connection
between the
energy that is giving me these visions and this red disc? I don't know
but I
continue to ponder it.
