Feh - I'm in Oregon, and she's probably never gonna come up here either - it'd get rather expensive if she did try to meet us in even a few states, so I can understand that. But, if she feels like it, she might find another way to talk to us, IE - chat rooms, etc.

chat rooms are mostly empty.
She does answer her emails, though.
Shoot her a message.

Did that last sunday. Hasn't answered yet, so I figure, meh. She'll answer if she feels like it. Jane, on the other hand, offered to do a chat about what I'd like to see in future ARGs. Cool I figure, what the hell, might as well see if I can get an idea or two into a future ARG.

Funny. In my case, Durga replied pretty quickly at first, I haven't heard from Jane at all. Even from her Berkeley account. She must be pretty swamped on an ongoing basis.

I imagine Kristen is pretty swamped with emails by now as well, but she does reply, so patience.

Hmm. At first she always got right back to me, but I last emailed her before Thanksgiving, and she recently responded and apologized for not getting back to me sooner, but she's been pretty busy I think. So, be patient. I'm sure she'll get back to you -- she's a wonderful person and very devoted to her "crew."

Jane replied to my email very quickly, but it was very short. She told me she'd try to reply in greater length, but it hasn't come yet, and she didn't reply to a second email I sent her, so I'd guess she must be swamped. (Also, considering that she traveled out to (was it NY?), she's probably catching up on lots of stuff.)

So again, I'm sure she'll get back to people eventually.

Having just come from the "haiku" thread, my brain automatically edited out the words "mostly" in the first line and "her" in the second line. So close!

just wanting to keep this thread in everyone's mind

i'm COMPLETELY psyched for this, since i couldn't attend a training event, and i still don't have an XBox yet, i've felt a little left out lately... i think i'm more excited about meeting Kristen and the DC Axon Hunter Signal Corps than i am about Christmas!

Confirmation?

I hate to be pessimistic, but this thread has been unusually quiet. Has any further discussion taken place about this? Is it confirmed? Has there been any progress for a time/location? I usually would not worry about it, but the best I am being able to manage for this trip is about $350.

D.C. may have some nice sites, but as of right now; $350 (and a vacation day from work) for a three day trip there would not be worth it if there are no beekeepers.

Kristen agreed to meet us on January 2. She will be in town to visit family; no reason to think she won't be able to do this. We haven't set a location. The thread will warm up when we get a little closer to the date.

As to whether you should spend that much money to get to DC just to have drinks with Kristen, I can't say. Do you have any friends here you can also catch up with?

No, I don't have anyone else there to visit, but I have never seen D.C. before. If I come I would be headed to the Smithsonian and to see several of the monuments for the first time in addition to any ILB business. It is about the same amount I paid for my trip to Chicago for the training session and it was more then worth it.

It's definitely worthwhile to come to DC and visit the monuments and museums if you haven't before, as long as you can financially justify it. There truly are some great offerings there (as well as some ridiculously overpriced food to go with it, but at least Union Station isn't -that- bad in that department...)

Hmm, well I could stay with my mother in Baltimore, but then I would have to try to explain. . . No. Probably a bad Idea. P)

*Seriously contemplating making the trip up to D.C.....

I just need to know a meeting time to see if I can leave my family in Va. Beach in time to meet up.
