[PUZZLEs] Pathway Travel Flash Pages

Here's a thread to compile and solve anything of interest to be found in the pathway travel flash guestbooks found on each of the "more" pages for the destinations.

In the Gray Lodge, several pages in there is this message:

Quote:
I think that there is only one expression that can adequately describe my feelings about Devil's Island and the Gray Lodge in particular:

"O qcadzshs fsr vsffwbu"

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In ROT-12, it reads "A complete red herring." Funny.

Hilbert Hotel in Babel: the guestbook has plenty of suspicious messages:

In this first one, periods are placed in weird locations. Also, the third word is nearly uninteligible, so here is my best guess:
Quote:
Never thought maths would be such fun. Congratulations to. The owners and agencies involved. So nice to have. Space.

Any ideas what it means, if anything?

Anywho, right after a message mentioning latin having more meaning that one thought:
Quote:
Ophidia in herba
, which I'm pretty sure means "Snake in grass".

The next message seems rather pertinent, considering the IU thing that pops up:
Quote:
I wasn't even annoyed when they shifted me up a floor. Unlimited fun.
The I and U are substantially larger than the rest of the letters.

Various other clever messages abound.

The House of Reiche in Nazca:

One message just says "Daniel 5". Weird.

Asgard in Valhalla:

An array of numbers:
Quote:
1 12 12 9 19 14 15 20
19 5 5 13 19. 20 8
3 18 3 1 18 5 3
12 21 5 19 5 22 5
18 25 23 8 5 18 5
A............. T.............

Translation:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Using straight alphanumeric substitution we get "All is not seems. Thcrc are clues everywhere." I think the c's in "thcrc" are supposed to be e's, meaning that the 3's should've been 5's.

Another is "Program Not Up (A. Ragman)".

The Elysian Fields in Europa:

A repeat of the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"A complete red herring"
message from before.

A repeat of "Daniel 5".

In all of the guestbooks, there is a message reading:

"I came here in search of a man. I search for the man because I seek a reward. Nothing is here. It is more difficult than I imagined."

Have a read through the guestbooks; a lot of the messages are cleverlt humourous.

Is Daniel 5 an interesting biblical reference?[/spoiler]

Refreshing the book pages changes their content, so it might be a red herring to ascribe certain entries to certain books.

Aside from that, there is also an entry that reads, "Program Not Up (A. Ragman).

A.Ragman is an anagram for "Anagram." Here are the only coherent three word anagrams I have found so far:

group map torn
top UN program
popgun mortar
no program put
put on program
grant our pomp
poor tramp gun
goat porn rump
our tampon RPG
UN pot program
tug Roman prop

There were waaaay too many results to look through if you look at more than three word sentences.

Here is the KJV of Daniel 5, and the NIV for easier understanding.

Important parts?
Quote:
24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

There's so much information in Daniel 5 it'd be hard to discern it all. Are we supposed to read the writing on the wall? Laughing

Well...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
At www.thehidingroom.com, Jon's written all kinds of notes on the wall above the computer.

Connection?

One question. Why is it called Europa?

...from the Elysian Fields, Hades page on Pathway Travel. Europa (Europe's named after her) was part of the greco-roman mythology. According to this page, the Elysian fields really is the Eden equivilent of Greco-roman mythology and is presided over by Rhadamanthus, Son of Zeus and Europa.

No idea if it is relevent, just a response to one of the pages...

Next we've got Nazca, and the House of Reiche. Maria Reiche was the main champion for the preservation of the Nazca lines in the 70s. One of the most famous of the line diagrams is of course the hummingbird, and according to this page the hummingbird's bill is connected to a line that points to the place on the horizon where the sun rises on...

21st December. They were pretty accurate, too- have a look at this photo!

The same page also speaks of Tunguska. This was an event in Syberia in 1908 which most believed to be a meteor. When it was investigated years later they found no crater, but instead a butterfly-shaped clearing of trees.

I'll give the puppetmasters this, they are extremely well read.

Or maybe that's the name/email/password protected book in the safe, in the Hiding Room.

Has anyone worked out the significance of "Daniel 5" yet?

Some of us believe that it might be alluding to being able to read the writing on the wall. Please check the previous posts for more speculation.
