even though this is OT kinda (for the thread), the follow thing from incubus (and i dont even like them!) is freakin sweet, i think. sorry to the breaking benjamin fans, but i think it blows "blow me away" out of the water! however, i absolutly despise the idea of lyrics for halo, even as a tribute, so i guess im a little biased. o and craig, i absolutly love your stuff, ive kept track of it ever since the first marathon remake when u posted it at the marathon story forum. u can imagine my excitement when i ctrl-fed your name at the story forum today and found u had an update (even if it wasnt marathon related)! just lettin u know, im a huge fan. o, AND SCREW OC REMIX!!!

yup

Yeah... Ocremix... those guys are Confused .. some guys... well I dunno, they had some good points about my song even if I thought they were a little harsh Very Happy

Thanks for the kind words AfroRyan, its great to know people like my stuff.

In a sort-of on topic note, I was really disgusted at first that there was going to be an "inspired by" album with a bunch of signed artists contributing songs... it did, and still does reek of some M$ executive's idea to make a couple extra bucks off of Halo 2. But I think, for those of us who this made upset, they've made it better by creating an instrumental soundtrack as well.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll just ignore that an "inspired by" soundtrack exists. By biggest fear with that, however, is that they might actually have decided to put some of the "inspired by" songs in the game. Shocked I'll keep an open mind about it, but I can't really see that being a good thing at the moment.

Is there something wrong with me?

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that Steve Vai was in a band named 777.

Shocked

if this was a movie score by John Williams: (there's probably a better order)

Intro/I Love Bees Main Theme
Along Came a SPDR
Dana's Problem
The Widow's Journey
The Princess has Some Fun
Stormy Weather
The Flea Takes Control
Axons Go Hot
Jan on the Run
Enter Durga
Walkaway Girl (Jan's Theme)
Coral (Sophia's theme)
Survive Evade Resist Escape
The Artifact
Enhottenate! (it's for you)
Perdita's Story
Moons
Aiden's Promise
Kamal Takes the Job
Weephun's Betrayal
Ice Cream
hmrPita to the Rescue!
Perdita's Story reprise (happy ending)
Chawla Base
Cupid's Knife
Family Reunion
Requiem for a Spartan
Durga's Revelation
Jersey Makes an Offer
Spartan's Revenge
(tracks yet to be determined)
The Truth / End Title

alright, so if you happen to be a composer and have a 72 piece orchestra at your beck and call... i expect to hear it this weekend!

ill admit craig, i hated the idea at first too, but as long as its seperate, i dont really care that much. I wont end up buying it anyhow, being that if it was any good, the songs would make it into halo 2. i do, however, think that the idea of steve vai contributing to the soundtrack AS WELL AS the real game is awesome. it has me pumped, i absolutly love him.

EDIT: o, and when i said OC REMIX sucked, i only meant those particular judges. i think some of the stuff on there is really good. however, ive heard stuff that is laughable compared to yours (look at about half of the final fantasy remixes). constructive criticism is fine, but i doubt those guys even PLAYED marathon, let alone hear the original music.

I think this Linkin Park song deals with Mel's problems. Trust, seperation, etc...

"I don't know who to trust, no surprise
everyone feels so far away from me
heavy thoughts sift through dust and the light
trying not to break but I'm so tired of this deceit
everytime I try to make myself back up on my feet
all I ever think about is this, all the tiring time between
and how trying to put my trust in you just takes so much out of me"

"Take everything from the inside and throw it all away
cause I swear for the last time I will trust myself with you"

"Tension is building inside steadly
everyone feels so far away from me
heavy thoughts forcing their way out of me
trying not to break but I'm so tired of this deceit
everytime I try to make myself back up on my feet
all I ever think about is this, all the tiring time between
and how trying to put my trust in you just takes so much out of me"

"Take everything from the inside and throw it all away
cause I swear for the last time I will trust myself with you"

Yes, yes. i know. WAY too late but i was listening to a Cake CD and the first song... Frank Sinatra. check the lyrics out.

We know of an ancient radiation
That haunts dismembered constellations,
A faintly glimmering radio station.
While Frank Sinatra sings Stormy Weather,
The flies and spiders get along together,
Cobwebs fall on an old skipping record.

Beyond the suns that guard this roof,
Beyond your flowers of flaming truths,
Beyond your latest ad campaigns,
An old man sits collecting stamps
In a room all filled with Chinese lamps.
He saves what others throw away.
He says that he'll be rich some day.

We know of an ancient radiation
That haunts dismembered constellations,
A faintly glimmering radio station.

We know of an ancient radiation
That haunts dismembered constellations,
A faintly glimmering radio station.
While Frank Sinatra sings Stormy Weather,
The flies and spiders get along together,
Cobwebs fall on an old skipping record.

I think that's posted elsewhere in this thread, actually! I am too lazy to search! Ha, ha!

Someone sang that during one of the first Live games we were all playing. That was cool. I think it was Rendon or someone ...

(ahhh, never mind, it was over in Interaction: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=79059#79059)

That was you! Can I just say, I knew it was a name with an *e*o letter combination in it? Memory is such a funny thing.
