More bad poetry/hints from Sin:

"Find what's hidden within converse, and find what's common in my verse, put them together (not too perverse), you might find some light in an old block curse with a mathematical solve that might disperse some of the angst you keep in your purse."

We need more people working on this!

Oh meus, oh myour

Play with fire, burn my prose,
And I might draw this to a close.

Just kidding.

Redirect your gaze to my unseen fare,
For they're not so clouded over there.
A few have seen and they have noted
those QT'd herein anecdoted
I know you hear, but can you see?
My veiled threats mean a lot to me.

GASP!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He's hinting at the Instant Insanity puzzle! Catherwood and I have been discussing this in #uh and it seems pretty certain. More on the puzzle here:

http://www.cs.uidaho.edu/~casey931/puzzle/insane/insane.html

What we figure is that we have to find the words/cube plots that match the instant insanity plots and then solve the puzzle.

Woo!

We haven't made much progress since that initial breakthru yesterday. Here is what we have so far: my graphic worksheets -- help us if you can, please!

See, the white text around the grid is instructions. Follow along with them if you'd like.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
First we find four words that are related to "hidden". There are indeed only four: "veiled", "buried", "latent", and "crypto".

Next we "bend, (etc). cube" them; ie. fold those word grids into cubes.

Then we line them up beside each other and make each side "unique"; ie. solve the Instant Insanity block puzzle.

We've got that far, and cath has made wonderful graphics to show our work here: http://catwood.leftbrained.org/ILB/insanity.htm

Any interpretations of the last bit of white text?

Quote:
if this is not insanity, i we then
and yet I us by the facets of my our mind
where can weIwe turn for support?
this is hidden from ImeusWe ever still!
help...

brainstorming

How about this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If we take them in their solved position, then TURN the four cubes to reveal their HIDDEN faces (or facets), we get these 8 letters: I R L Y L D A P -- I've been trying to unscramble them, but nothing jumps out as signficant to me.

Well.. the word "pillar" can be taken from those letters, and that was the puzzle that we skipped to.

"where can I turn for support"

We turned the blocks and got letters that could spell "pillar": a support.

But it can't be that easy, can it? CAN IT INTTEROBANG

And in that case, what's with the extra DY?

*tears out his hair*

We're so CLOSE!

[SOLVED]

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's more than one way to arrange these cubes for a solution!

We had them arranged so that the top faces read: VIET

But TVEI also works to solve the Instant Insanity conditions!

And if they are arranged thusly, then the hidden faces on the inside spell out:

P IL AL R

The AL is backwards cause we had to fold the latent cube inside out to make it fit the layouts of the Instant Insanity puzzle. I suspect that Sin made his own cubes and that they had only one solution, but we took the easy way out and made them fit pictures of solutions that we'd found on the internet. In any case:

We turned for support: PILLAR.

Those letters, my friends, lead us here:

http://www.theunraveling.com/pillar.html

Which is where we skipped to.

The Unraveling is done.

UH is completely finished.

Thank you ALL, especially Catherwood.

And Sin?

I'm going to DEVOUR YOUR SOUL.

BEWISHED HORSES PROVERBS RIDE

The link's been made, the chain's been forged,
On my Roast Beast you're full engorged.
Please don't burst innards asunder, so
Near Time of Blitzen and Deer Thunder

Oh...

The voices
quiet
in myour mind.

Rejoice!
Rejoice oh
manunkind

My mind
alone
in solipsism
on edge
quite like a

preapism
Once was lost in
a labyrinth
of sin --

The cactus fraught with worms therein --
Echoes...

Tangles, ravels of my past
Torture chambers
first
and last
As Lenore-ish books,
sorrows surcease,
Now we -
no I -
can rest in

peace.

Thank you...
