[SPEC] another master cube site Uh, there's also a http://www.master-cube.com (note the hyphen)
Interestingly, this site also has almost nothing except a front page as well. I'm awaiting a reply/explanation from the webmaster now but the source gives nothing away, I can't find an images directory and there's no robots.txt file either.
Probably just another straw to grasp at....
UPDATE 30/11/2004 21.01:
My email to the webmaster bounced - looks like a normal email bounce to me. Oh well...

Did some messing around in photshop myself and it looks like there are a lot more letters there than 6. About 8 would be my guess but its hard to tell as there is no spaces inbetween each letter.

computer cube? haha, sorry, that was a random stab in the dark caused by reading most of Pattern Recognition today (too many references to the Mac as "the Cube"). disregard and move on

It would be another nice connection to Patter Recognition . Hmm...maybe the "secret partnet" is Mac!

Still new here, so please forgive me... Third post (well second if you don't count the 'further to' post in another topic!) so please forgive me if this sounds stupid etc etc (typical newbie stuff)..
Anyway,
I've had a look at the letter, rotated the image abit, played with the colours contract etc etc - I have to admit it does look like Master could be in there, but as someone else just pointed out, it does look like more letters could fit... And i have a suggestion (not fact based, or image based - just a suggestion) - how about....
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
THE "QUANTUM" CUBE ?
(nice ring to it, and fits with the whole "Your world" thing)
Hmm, just a thought - oh well back to my "beautiful mind" (hehehe - get it)
No?
(sorry bad sense of humor too i guess)
Regards,
Swampy.
(The Swampy Cube? - nah that'd be stupid)

I would like to put forth a few thoughts on the two "Master(-)Cube" sites.
If you look at the source code at PerplexCity, you will notice that from the <HTML> tags to the <Body> tags, it is set up without lending credit to any web developing program that so many are want to insert into their code.
Now, take a look at the two MC sites.
One uses Microsoft Frontpage 4.0, and the other uses Microsoft Frontpage 5.0, along with a few different <Meta> tags that really mean nothing.
PerplexCity lends no credit to FrontPage of any version nor does it have any of these <Meta> tags.
It seems less and less likely that the "Master(-)Cube" sites are in any way related to Project Syzygy; in all likelihood it's probably just a couple of start-up companies wanting to get their name on the 'Net before they did some real web development.
The chances of two different methods of web development, plus two different version of the same method, being used on the same ARG just doesn't seem to fly with me. I would guess both of these MC sites to be off-game sites.

So now all the PMs have to do to throw us off the trail is to add a frontpage meta tag into the header...
And back to the point I still can't fathom: why would anyone want the word blacked out in the first place?
