You know, if you're going to trout, it's good form to show HOW a post is a trout, usually by providing a link to where it was mentioned before.

Like on page 1 and page 7 of the main thread.

If you don't have time to read through an entire thread, there is the search button up in the top right hand corner. But I would suggest reading through all the posts in here. There aren't *that* many yet (compared to forums like ILB) and you really do learn a lot by at least skimming through them.

although, it is slowly getting bigger, and after the 21/22nd it will likely be pretty huge Confused Which, ironically, highlights the need for a wiki... Wink

Bill has set up the wiki he hosts at deaddrop to cover more than one game. The only problem I ran into is that you can't just say "character" you need to say "character:sable&shuck" or whatever you guys decide to call them.

To access the wiki, to create a new one, go here:

http://deaddrop.us/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I would also talk to Bill about it in a PM or in chat. But as he set the site up to support more than one game, I think anyone can use it.

This is not to discourage any player or group of players from setting up their own resource. In ilovebees we found that multiple resources work best-- but, still, it is great of Bill to be willing to host this important player resource.

Talked to Bill and now we have our very own page: http://deaddrop.us/wiki/index.php/Sable_Shuck_Wiki_Guide

Remember, Wiki's are for the COMMUNITY to contribute too. I'll update when I can, but you guys can help out too!

I am new to this all and to say I am impressed is an understatement.
This ARG stuff is kinda sweet (just read over the ILB one and the MU and man, great stuff I wish I heard of before 3 days ago!!!!)

Anwyay, to my point....
I read through all of these posts over the past 2 days and did not see any mention of the item (jug of some sorts) in the Refrigerator being the same one as what is in Olaf Veltman's Crossroad picture.
From the looks of the other 2 Olaf pics, this is the one that doesn't have the beer in the image.
I will keep reading and playing along, but was wondering if this has been mentioned (searched for jar or jug or bottle and zero results wer returned).

Anyway... I hope to continue with this and hope to get to take that test tomorrow as well as look into those guestbooks at pathway more as well.
So far, I am almost hooked and figure to be fully hooked by tomorrow.

Not quite true...I could be wrong but I thought it had been wordlessly decided this was a Stella beer keg. 9 pints capacity if I remember rightly, but then, after that much, I probably don't....

For what its worth,

The magazine on the Living Room table IS (or WAS) a real magazine called Sleaze (formerly Sleazenation). Apparently it was only around for about 6 months and folded back in June 2004.

Further information on http://www.dot-alt.com/sleezerip.html, showing the same title font/type as that used on the magazine in thehidingroom.com.

Always,

The Cryptic Celt

It's the June 04 issue of Sleaze (last issue they put out before going out of business - I guess their souls just weren't worth enough Smile ) and the advert is The Man In Black in the office picture across pages 22 and 23 (bet they were annoyed they didn't get page 21 Wink ). Over the page on pg 24 is a very indistinct and blurry image and the url http://www.whatisthecontract.com (I'll scan it this weekend) which redirects to Sable and Shuck. Nearly threw the magazine away but I'll have a closer look over the next couple of days to see if there's anything else worth noting.

EDIT: N.B. I just noticed that the hiding room magazine has one of the other Man In Black adverts and it's on the inside cover. Almost certainly nothing to read into this other than whoever did the animation wasn't expecting someone to keep copies of 6-month-old defunct magazines lying around but I thought you lot might be interested.

Fibonacci numbers? Apparantly these are used to solve Hilbert's (As in the Babel Hilbert Hotel) Tenth problem.

think that could definitely be worth a look.

also a big thanks for all who helped set up the wiki (though my favourites list is looking like all i do is sable and shuck Smile)

sorry i dont have anything good to add, but my physics friends are going to get me some fibbonacci stuff this weekend hopefully.

We think 1366 keeps coming up because it is the date of the first brewing of Stella Artois, the beer this game is promoting.

1366 also shows up as the number on the plane on http://www.tridentair.com/index_ok.php , one of the affiliated websites. does the company's symbol mean anything?

Possibly Dennis Horen's prayer book

Does anyone else think that the book in the safe that is requiring a password might be Dennis Horen's prayer book, which he sold in the classifieds of the Hornchurch Star?

http://www.hornchurchstar.com/classifieds.php

I don't know why I keep going back and exploring that.... it's making me a bit mad.... Twisted Evil

[Spec] Actually, I was thinking that the book in the safe might be a copy of The Book of Star.

On the HWAU site, Jon mentions that knowledge about him is power over him. Jon is, of course, referring to The Man in Black. Jon also mentions that The Book of Star offered an unrivalled insight into The Man in Black.

So I figure that Jon is protecting himself using knowledge gleaned from the The Book of Star, and that he would want to keep this book tucked away safely in a safe.

It sure is, we've been drinking Stellar in NZ for years and years and even though you cannot see the logo front on, it is most definitely the Stellar Artois label.

You mean besides the fact that it's owned by satan? Wink It is a trident, one of Jon's six signs of the man in black from hewalskamongus.com, and the planes boast the ability to do astral travel (implied down the river styx).
