hehe well when we were doing the 3 team slayer, and 4 people on red, angelo WAS half the team, exactly... 25 kills... *sigh* Smile I still avg last or next to last... I just don't play as much as the rest of you, so I'm not up on the strategies, and my aiming thumb is still getting use to the control from the switchover...

heh I picked up a magnum in my left and smg in my right, and when I attacked, I was literally shooting everywhere... my triggers just couldn't work together, cuz the pistol is single shot and the smg is automatic... I'm not that ambidextrous Razz left trigger firing, right trigger holding, left thumb and right thumb switched, and A for jump... *sigh* too..much..to..take...

I miss my southpaw jumpy Very Happy

Bruce, I had the exact same problem!! I still use southpaw and shoot with my left trigger when I'm not dual wielding! When I'm dual wielding and one of the guns is a pistol, it has to be on my left hand (right trigger), otherwise I just get lost and can't kill a fly! One thing I really struggle with is the plasma pistol + pistol combo! I'm used to charge the plasma pistol with my right trigger (left hand), but I can't shoot the pistol with my left trigger (right hand)! So, this combo is useless for me ... Yeah, you can call me a freak! Laughing !

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Now when I see Krystyn I don't just stay out in the open until she runs out of a clip. Wink I duck and take cover when I can cause she was whooping on me last night with the pistol/SMG combo. I used to kinda feel bad when I killed her..now I don't cause she makes me fight for that kill. Twisted Evil

Trident, just keep playing and you'll get the little tricks. Adapt or be killed. Learn your opponents(much harder to do in a slayer match). Drink beer and drive a warthog, but remember to have fun. We won't bench you Very Happy

I've definitely improved a bunch since we all started grouping up last month. I still can't snipe to save my life, but otherwise anyway. Good times all around. And I find it hilarious that my standard strategies on many levels now involve specific elements to counteract (or try to anyway) specific beekeepers. And others seem to have picked up on my standard strategeries and do the same thing to me.

Playing against family and other friends over Christmas is going to be interesting... my offense should be more effective and my defense less!

I'd also just like to reinforce that it is indeed all about fun. And a beekeeper game is far above a random matchmade game for fun any day.

This has pretty much made my morning. Heh.

That's a combo I've been practicing with. I also do well when it's a swords-only match, and I am having a bit of fun with the shotgun, as well. It's like, baby steps.

Last night, we did some matchmaking slayer on Colossus, and I grabbed the shotgun, and just blam'd through 4 people in succession. It was so wild. I think I have a tiny crush on the shotgun, now.

Here's the game:

hey, I don't feel bad for killing anyone! Laughing I think I would feel worse if I got the opportunity to kill someone and let it go out of pity, specially if the person noticed that!

But yeah, I love the shotgun! As most people noticed, I'm a shotgun whore on Zanzibar! It's just an awesome weapon with all the corners to ambush people!

Another funtastic evening with the beekeepers. I need to apologize to my team in the slayer matches, though. I have been working on trying to up my look sensitivity and with the cold last night I think it just produced a bunch of random shooting due to shivering. No excuses, though, since I'm sure everyone was feeling the effects of winter. I am curious to know, though, if some of the better slayer players (Waters, Thunderclap 8, Eclipse, Angelo) have higher look sensitivities. I have been experimenting at level 7 because I found myself unable to keep up with others during a dance of death. Because of this, I find myself much better on the objective games than on slayer. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Whoa, I'm one of the better players? I appreciate the nomination Smile

I have my sensitivity a notch or two above the default, i forget exactly which number at the moment. It took me some time to get used to each increase, and I've been meaning to notch it up some more. I recommend playing a bunch of campaign levels after each step up, that'll train you pretty quick. Also just go up one notch at a time, don't instantly jump to the top like I did at first Smile

Ditto! Smile

I use sensitivity 7 right now. I'm thinking about increasing it though. Maybe to 8 or 9. I used 8 on Halo1, but it was too hard with dual wielding on Halo2. Now that I'm more familiar with the dual wielding, I might be ok with 8, at least.

Kaber, just be careful with this. You're a great sniper, and this increased sensitivity may give you some problems when you're sniping. Try to find your happy medium. I'm an average sniper, so in my case, it doesn't make me much worse than I already am.

Ah, one more of my weird things. For campaign, I use the default sensitivity! I have a hard time with high sensitivities when killing the covenant. I guess it's because campaign is not as fast paced as multi-player. You can call me a freak once more! Laughing

I'm on about a 6 or 7..I can't remember.. I know I had to dull mine down a bit because I'd overturn on people and end up shooting the wall next to them.

One of the reasons I was curious as to look sensitivities is due to the conflict I am having between sniping and standard guns. I noticed last night that I was having lots of difficulty with the sniper rifles and was often caught from behind because I would spend too much time trying to line up the shot. I guess I will have to just keep practicing to see if I can overcome this latest challenge.

I keep mine at full tilt 10. I have the same problems as everyone else, but I figgure I'll adjust to it sooner or later. Turning speed is critical when people are trying to ambush you at every corner.

Nah; I'm the same way. How you like it daddy?

Also, for reasons I don't understand I can keep up with the maypole of death battles a lot better if I use bash to turn.

But if people know how to ambush, meaning they have the proper weapon like a shotgun, it doesn't matter how fast you can turn cause usually it takes just the one shot.

I turned mine up to 10, 'cause Griff was making fun of me. In the last 2 days, I turned it back down to 7, 'cause I was getting disoriented on quick turns and jumps.

I feel the love from you folks who say I'm getting better. I suspect that we're all getting better playing with each other. I can tell that I'm coordinating better with the people I know, even when we're not talking about it out loud. It improves my sniper aim immensely when someone behind me says, "I got your back." I now know what to do when I see the MCO with a sword: try something drastic, like grenades or rockets. And if waters100 and I have the back of a building, you probably won't survive an attack. The more we play together, the more we know about what to expect of each other.
