Information:
"The Cyclops gave a groan. 'Alas!' he cried. 'Those ancient prophecies
have come back to me now! We had a wizard living with us once, a
good and great prophet, TELEMUS, son of Eurymus the best of
soothsayers, who grew old as a seer practicing the art among us
Cyclopes. All that has happened he foretold; my great eye lost at
Odysseus' hands.'"

(Homer, The Odyssey)

A read on Cyclops/Zeus:

I've tried a few variants of Cyclops/Telemus/Homer/Odyssey but have to run to an appt. so GL and hopefully someone can make sense of this one.

Is this another reference to "Third Eye Blind"?

The Third Eye - isn't that a prophecy eye? I don't have time today for googling.

A cyclops doesn't have a second eye, much less a third eye to get poked out.
