General Museings I didnt see anywhere to put general stuff so hey, I started one. So Hi, Im vector, still recovering from the aftermath of ILBs and foolishly ventured over here. ::sigh:: here we go again
Well the first thing that i have noted but havent seen any disscussion on, was the reward put out by Jon's sister. why that exact value? 10,946 seems to me to be an odd value. Why not pitch in the other 44 and make it an even 11,000? Being in pounds it is a mysterious and magical value to me that i dont fully understand, is this common? Anyway that is the first thing that i have noticed, more to come i hope

Welcome vector!
Yes, it is a strange value, actually it's the 21st Fibonacci number. There are posts about it in our forums
here and here , it is also mentioned here in our Wiki here .
Quite alot has already been discovered about Jon and Sable&Shuck. Please take the time to review the previous posts, and take a look at our Wiki if you get a chance!

weird:
on iferno cargo site they say they fly the Fairchild c-123 Provider.
since being a "hypermodern" company i wondered why. i know this has nothing to do with the game, but i found it interesting to give some additional info, being a former airforce officer (Dutch that is)
from: http://www.photovault.com/Link/Military/AirForce/Aircraft/C-123Provider.html
Quote:
The C-123 Provider is a short-range assault transport used to airlift troops and cargo onto short runways and unprepared airstrips. Designed by the Chase Aircraft Co. the C-123 evolved from earlier designs for large assault gliders. The first prototype XC-123 made its initial flight on October 14, 1949 powered by two piston engines. A second prototype was built as the XG-20 glider. It later was test-flown, powered by four jet engines.
The production version, with two piston engines, was designated the C-123B. Chase began manufacture in 1953, but the production contract was transferred to Fairchild. The first of more than 300 Fairchild built C-l23Bs entered service in July 1955. Between 1966 and 1969, 164 C-l23Bs were converted to C-l23Ks by adding two J85 jet engines for improved performance. It may look familiar as this is the aircraft type used in many of todays action films.
The plane was designed to fly from short, unprepared runways and incorporated a rear ramp for parachute jumps, cargo drops and parachute drag unloading. The plane could carry most Army wheeled vehicles and howitzers. The C-123 was used extensively in Viet Nam as the primary Agent Orange defoliant spray ship. A modified C-123 served as General William Westmoreland's executive transport. No fuel is carried in the wings of the aircraft. All of it is carried in the engine nacelles or wing drop tanks to reduce the chance of fire in combat. This attributed to the Provider's relatively short combat radius.
as you could read this plane is in no possible way to "travel" to the farthest destinations, being a "develish" company, i guess they solved that problem. and ofcourse the fact that it is anything but comfortable. hehe
i also found out that only 40 of them are still flying.
guess the gamedesigners havent had time to investigate in transports as good as they have done investigating the rest of the game.
but, this was all kinda sideinfo, that is why i put it here.

just a thought but it might be that the runway of their airstrip is to short, right. Since there's no such plane being able to bring people to walhalla, I don't think it's fair that they didn't do there research. So is there any reason anyone could think of why they did use this aircraft?

typing Jon's location at HMFJ Just found out that digits/numbers cannot be written to tell Jon's location, only letters! Neither on the num pad nor standard keys.
So, now we know that we're not supposed to tell his coordinates. Not yet anyway.
I wasn't sure of that before.

Track 'n trace Have to spit out some thoughts. I'm going away over the weekend so I can't go further with this right now.
from Inferno Cargo:
"To track the delivery of your services and luxury commodities, enter your reference in the tracking box - exactly as it appears on your contract. "
"...today launched an online tracking tool with the help of Marlowe Digital."
"...gain access to an entirely new area of the site that allows them to see exactly where their premium goods and services are in the procurement chain."
and further on the "Inferno Fleet" page:
"Every delivery now has a state of the art global positioning unit attached so that Clients can track their commodities using our online service."
They're really making a point of this Tracking service!
On the wall at www.thehidingroom.com Jon has written:
Inferno Cargo
What can I get delivered?
How do I find out?
(Can't remember if there's something about this in the cache aswell. To tired to think. Time is 1:50 a.m. in Sweden now, where I live.)
Does he intend to send himself (in a box - the hiding room) with a tracking device?
Is this how we shall find him?
Perhaps it should be The Hidin' Groom. He's getting married! (A church would be rather safe to hide in though).
Errrr... sorry!

if we can find out where jon's goods are, we will know he hasnt received them yet......(that is what i think) that means he is on the earth somewhere, but from the cache and from certain clues in the guestbooks we see he has got his trip to the library, so that means that if we finally are able to track his goods, we will find out not really much more about where he is now, or do we???
i will give it some time to snoop around the travel and IC sites for clues....
maybe we have someone here who can "find" clues about the tracking device made by marlowe....it should be a kind of script or something on the website............
again, just a thought......

musical hints the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that inferno cargo can be accessed using a musically themed name and id.
Hmm, lorelei & something - there are so many musical links.
