SPEC:

The picture page we got to was the cumeaen sibyl page. But, in the view source, the .jpg is names "Apollo". So with the last letter from psammead and the last "clue" picture, I found this (go down about half way):
There is a picture there too. I had put the image here, but it was way to big.

Quote:
THE HARMONY OF APOLLO

When we see the eye in the sky which is the Hour Glass Nebula consider that there is a geometric pattern called The Harmony of Apollo which when placed over an eight and a half by eleven photo of Hour Glass fits it perfectly.

How could it. How could they know?

Beings living in the galaxy 4555 had seen these things thousands of years ago and could then tell us about them long before the light touched the earth.

What I see is (A+B) + (B+C) + (C+B) + (B+A) = x. I'm no math whiz, so I'm sure I'm missing something.

Hopefully this will help someone else. Shocked

Another silly question. Did you guys "see" (no Push pun intended Very Happy ) that simple substitution message in our letters, or did you "see" symbols? I "see" symbols.

A similar diagrams can be located here:

how was it 'solved'?

Our letters were just blank pages.

At http://www.greywethers.net/return.html we see the "symbols" that are just letters. Many of them are similar to English letters (like the "t", the "L", and the "h")- so that started me "seeing" English words. Each "symbol" = a certain letter and after I started substituting, figuring out the rest was easy. Simple substitution code.

The only obvious change on this page is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Mousing over the upper center window of the first house causes the words "folk lore" to appear on the yellow sandwich board.

Clicking will take you to http://www.greywethers.net/window7.html which cycles through a series of pages (wt1.html through wt7.html)

For ease of viewing, I have posted the various pages without the redirect script in the archives. (The pages with -mod at the end of the name are sans script.) Or you can take a gander at the pictures in the images directory.

Thank you. Those of us with slower connections were not getting the full pics before moving on to the next one.
