[UPDATE] Dec 22 All of the updates are detailed over at the wiki, but here are a few interesting things.
n8.htm has a few new things
That weird Wi th code has been reformatted
Still have no idea.
2 new rot'd comments:
Quote:
strike hard sieze the initiative
no were not talking about romance between harry and draco
The strike hard line almost looks like it might be taken from a video game site (big surprise, right? even bigger that its a marathon [bungie] site) The line there is actually: Move fast... seize the initiative... dive into the mêlée... strike hard... endure! Just Vid It - With Style!
(edit) ohhhhh - those are all keywords for pages we've been missing
The only thing I can think of for the Harry Potter line is slash fiction - but I'm not getting anywhere with that either </stike> slash is the keyword for am13.php, silly me

And new stuff on mace's page:
Quote:
I noticed that Flora seems to be hanging out with Daniel recently. I wouldn't have thought he was her type. But then, the things I don't know about women...
and the conversation:
Quote:
Master Bao: Michael, I hate to say this, but I believe Daniel is not on board with the rest of the team. I've given him every consideration, but he needs more encouragement. That's why I'm asking everyone to take some time out of their busy schedules to talk to him. I believe you have a...perspective he can appreciate.
Michael Ace: I read you loud and clear, boss.
Master Bao: Excellent. I knew I could count on you.
plus a little bit on Flora's:
Quote:
note to self: find more soap. at least we have hot water...
Quote:
Floralia: Master, your words have the same fire of truth they always do. Could we get together this evening? We haven't had any time together in quite a while.

I think those were directed towards me. The first one definitely is because I finally(?) noticed there was a comment in the source code of the update page. I goofed up and put it on the Wiki as automatically when it really said automagically.
The second could be toward me as well, since in my quest to find the stupid password, I kept putting the oddest thing as keywords on the door_to page. Stuff like "oh you snots you updated again!" I haven't had time to go back through the site this morning since I haven't been feeling all that well, but I hope I'll have time this afternoon to catalog stuff.

Well they've noticed ...
a8.htm:
Quote:
THE TWENTY-THIRD DAY OF THE LAST MONTH - Daniel Buta would like everyone to know that we are experiencing some problems with the Idunn website. If you have any doubts about what you see here, visit myself or Master Bao. ...Or, if you must, Michael Ace or Floralia.
and on the login page:
Quote:
# We've been hacked - Someone posted a link to something about the King in Yellow, which was definitely not the Yellow Emperor. I don't think anyone here would do such a thing, so it must be some outside influence. --Dan
Plus, on Dan's page:
Quote:
Master Bao: Daniel, were you the one who did that long town post about the doctrine of Idunn? I appreciate your efforts, but you really should not do things like that without clearing them with me first. And by the way, could you see fit to change the password to the admin task list? Given recent events, I'm a little worried about security. (And everyone else is having trouble with it, they don't know anything about this person you seem to admire.)
Daniel Buta: IT WASN'T ME. I don't care about your stupid cult religion, this is just a job. But it IS my job, and I wouldn't mess it up by posting something weird like that without permission.
Who does Dan admire?

Bonus though that they don't realize that MY post is fake. When I sent my tip into the police, I just told them to look at the Idunn town page - didn't give them an addy. Should I assume they would know the addy, or would I have to link them.
Oh, and there is a new comment on the air or fire page..forget which one. It says "help me i'm scared of the ferrets" - a reference to the talk back i made on the rainbow keyword page. hehe..beware the ferrets of doom!

I figured a wrestler too, but I don't know many. I tried Undertaker and a couple of others, but nothing so far.
Can anyone identify the wrestlers in daemon-1.png?

The only other things I can think of are from his page.
1. The quote "It's a strange dichotomy between absolute faith in a supernatural doctrine...and absolutey terror of technology." Just seems an odd quote for him. But I haven't been able to find anything close to this on Google.
2. The only other thought I had might be he admired some sort of code/glpyh breaker. I was thinking maybe the guy who finally deciphered the Rosetta stone, but I didn't get anywhere there.

I got Dan's password for the admin update page!
It does have to do with wrestling - and his favorite pizza is a move done by his favorite wrestler:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He really likes the Undertaker - but he decided to be sneaky and use his real name: Callaway
I haven't put anything up on the page yet - I don't know what to say. Any ideas?

For the H****r part: my fault (sorry for yelling out HIS name the first time ) is also referenced to as "He-who-must-not-be-named" in most of the stories, where he appears not in form of one of HIS avatars, the "King in Yellow" or "The Feaster from afar". Rumours say, he may even appear if you speak out his name aloud and it's the right time.
So I think not a riddle, but a kind hint to adress him, as he deserves...

Bah, I figured it was something to do with the wrestlers, but I'd completely forgotten the link between the Tombstone, and the Undertaker.. (I haven't watched any wrestling in years..), and I wouldn't have gotten the real name reference.. well, not off the top of my head, anyway.
Good work, Rowan.

I'm starting to see why they're called "ARGs"... it's not because it's short for "Alternate Reality Game". It's because that's the phrase you continually want to yell while playing them.

New text on the town page. I looks like genuine Master Bao.
Quote:
THE TWENTY-THIRD DAY OF THE LAST MONTH - It is obvious that we shall experience adversity in our devotion. But after coming so close, we cannot stop now. I shall entreat the heavens to protect us, and the ceremony of Appointment must continue as planned. We shall hold the ceremony on the final day of the year, and thus be able to start the new year with a new beginning. Noon seems a suitably auspicious time. --Master Bao
