Overwhelmed.. but fun

Greetings everyone. I have just discovered this neat genre of gaming.. and I'm loving it. I decided to jump into (or try) L3/Acheron.. and I just seem so VERY LOST.

I have found the "trail" of solves and registered over the weekend at the acheron.us site. Haven't received a confirmation yet on the registration.

Anyone have any info on helping me to get started and begin making sense. Where does the game stand currently?

Thanks
Peter

Hi Nitro. As I understand it, the L3 portion is over, and Acheron hasn't started yet. So we're all just waiting. Those who registered a while back got one confirmation e-mail a while back.

I didn't play L3, so I'm not sure if Acheron will be totally separate or will somehow continue that game. I believe it will be a separate game. So I wouldn't work too hard trying to learn L3 history just yet.

If you're itching to play something active, I find "Capture the Flagmonkey" (don't ask!) pretty interesting, and it's in full progress. Although there is also a lot of back info to catch up on now. But who knows, you might think of something nobody else has, that game isn't so widely followed, so it's quite possible to make a big difference!

If you have a LOT of time, you could try to figure out where "Chasing the Wish" currently stands, although that's a huge task...

Also, I think imbri and jamesi are launching something - look in the News thread under Going Wabbit Hunting for current status. We are drowning in kickout pages and trying to figure out the answer to the "madness" submit box . . . Recognition of Alice in Wonderland imagery useful but not necessarily required (at least so far).
