... now I hope that Monster listing isn't harvesting e-mail addresses for something. o_O

"Reference number" means the number of the job-order, nor "to reference a number on the site". At least, that's what it usually means in a job listing.

What's the g-mail address that's tied to it? It might be a clue.

Usually, yes, but this ad specifically said to reference the number on the Athena site, not on Monster.
To quote the relevant portion of the ad: For more information, visit www.athenaastronautics.com, reference # 0110110001101001011001110110100001110100.

I think I figured out that monster job ref number. I thought we could move the discussion
here
so it wouldn't get lost in the large mega-thread

yeah, it could also mean that there is a hint in one of the sites' "03" menus (ie: in AthenaAstro - future; in orbis labs - investors; etc...).....

This post was totally useless and I'm stupid for not reading everything first. Thanks for your attention anyway

Channel 51 has finally been updated... meh. Sounds like the whole things over, for now at least. Talk about an anti-climax. Was it all screwed up by the early discovery of that monster.com job posting? I'm assuming that was the end goal for this thing. It's like the "I woke up and it was all a dream" ending that I used at school for story writing when I was a kid - the easy way out. It sounds like there should have been more. Anyway, kudos to Nintendo for the free game, even if it won't work in my region. I just like staring at it longingly . Let's hope we see more of these promotions from Nintendo in the future...

The ending did indeed suck. There may be more behind the login at Orbis Labs, but I really don't have a clue what the password might be.
On a related note, I just finished the new Metroid this evening. Fun game, but it provided little insight into what the hell they are asking for at Orbis Labs.
