Thanks to everyone for putting up with the noob last night (switch red? do I hit the red button to do that?). I had a blast with the matchmaking and brain eating and sword lunging and everything. Since I am taking the GRE tomorrow, I doubt I'll be back online til Saturday. Hope to see you all then.

Best of luck, ariock. I'll get a little GRE voodoo doll and stick "easiness" pins in it, and you'll totally conquer it. (Well, you'd do that anyway, but if it's anything like the LSAT, it always helps to get a test with some nice easy questions at the beginning to boost your confidence. Wink )

CONGRATULATIONS, WEEPHUN!!!!

As for the zombies game, these are the tweaks i made. Mostly we had been playing "resident evil" which is twisted's vairiant on the game. His involves no shields and the humans use magnums instead of shotties. This kinda sucks for the zombies because one headshot and you are dead. Especially when the game first starts, it is nearly impossible to get NEAR the humans to make those first few zombifications.

The shotgun has about the same effective range as the sword, so if humans want to have a chance against the zombies they really need to move in groups of two or three. Also i turned on damage resistance so that it is not QUITE so easy to mow down zombies witha warthog turret.

The main problem with Twisted's variant (IMO) is that its fun to be a human but really sucks to be a zombie. So the goal of my variation was to make being a zombie a little easier. So now there ARE magnums on the map, but they don't respawn so you have to use them very strategically.

Zanzibar is a great map for the zombie game, particularly the beach, because it allows the humans to become entrenched out in the water while the zombies get to gather behind the cover on the beach and then storm the humans. Moving the huge box was so much fun. I would have given anything just to know what the humans were saying (panicking no doubt!) as we slowly approached your 'hogs while pushing the big box that first time, impervious to your rain of bullets. Of course, you kinda ended up stealing our box... but for a while there we were totally safe from your hogs.

For anybody who has not yet been the all important warthog turret operator in that game, it is SO FUN. Its like playing whack-a-mole with guns. Suddenly 10 zombies pour over the little hill, and you start tearing into them. You take them down one at a time, but all the while the herd is slowly getting closer. Usually you get most of them but one or two gets DANGEROUSLY close to you. Sometimes one will make it into your encampment. Its HARD to hit people close to the hogs, but its also hard to sword lunge somebody in a hog turret.
I remember one time (first game) where it was me, twisted, and weephun. Me and twisted were gunning, and weephun was just standing between the two hogs with his shottie. Krystyn was hiding somewhere talking on the phone or something Very Happy. Anyhoo the wave was coming out and we managed to take all of them out before they got to us, except for one. I think it was Nova. He got behind us and me and twisted were both wildly swinging turrets around trying to track him as he sword lunged at the gunners, not hitting us luckly. When we finally killed him it was like "*whew*, that was a close one. Wait.... WHERES WEEPHUN? NOOOOO"

Or, Janissary. Wink

FauxHammer, I added you back already.

Heh, I was totally hiding by the sword spawn spot in the fan whilst on the phone, and I was DYING when I saw some Elite zombie sword-whacking the big box across the lawn there - I had no idea what was going on at all until I finally was discovered and killed, and I switched over and ran out to the beach ...

Heh heh! It was so great to see the swarm of leapy green zombies, and then to become one of them. It really is much better on Zanzibar. I think the first time I played a variant of this game, it was on Foundation, and that map just gets me so nervous and anxious, not sure why. If you're party leader, and you choose rocketball on Foundation? I promise that I hate you more than a little bit, even though it's temporary and all. That map just gets me all shaky and blah!

Hrm, I guess I must be up there on that list, since I love rocketball on foundation. There's just something about that much mayhem and madness that's so much fun.

It was fun getting to play with you again last night guys! I've had such a hard time balancing my friends list. I have people from TUGG that I've been playing online with for over a year now, plus you guys, plus my friends here at home, plus my clan. I think a lot of people are moving on to Mechassault 2 though, but I'll stick with Halo for the most part. I miss my beekeepers. Embarassed

Thanks Embarassed You people are all awesome.

Yep, hit it on the head for the names.

Having the middle name of the firstborn son start with a J was the only tradition as far as naming goes in my family. Jenner was the only J name my wife liked as she'd dated just about every other J name in the book prior to dating me and didn't want to remember any one of them every time she used my son's full name Laughing (and also a really good friend of mine growing up) and Brenden went great with that.

My wife always loved the name Kiera. It does mean "dark haired" and we figured she would be as we both are (though that has yet to happen), but I think that was more of a nice addition to the name rather than what really sold my wife on it. Renae went well with Kiera.

Just for some ideas on spelling, my wife's siblings are Elisha, Kami, Emron, Shiloh ... and more (8 kids total). So non-traditional spellings are what she likes.

Hmm, Janissary .... that would be cool, maybe Sophia ...

Yah, I think it was Nova, but he was 1 of 2 or 3 that actually made it within shotgun range on that rush. He was just the only one that I wasn't able to kill before I got my brains eaten. And then I barely made it back to the warthogs in time to see them go up in flames as you two were devoured. I didn't even get to participate in the final kill Crying or Very sad Laughing

It was great playing with you, too, KirstenS!

LilPrincess: There's just nothing like virtually killing your man in a game in order to win ...

krystyn: There's just nothing like killing another K(r)(i)st(y)(i)(e)n, either!

*smacks LilPrincess in the head from behind, killing her instantly*

Heheheheheheheh.

There was also a great moment where I was whirling around in circles on Lockout, in some weird dance with Brandtidos, and I was badly using my shottie, and he was trying to snipe me in the face, and finally he got me, and he chuckled in this sort of mellow way, and said, "Heh, that was pretty fun." Dane cracks me up!

Congrats Weephun!

Edit: Good luck thoughts from NZ to ariock!

And did someone mention zombies?

Some self-defence techniques may come in useful.

I will get Live one day. One day soon. It will be my End of Year resolution... or something.

bbbbrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnsssssssssssss

woops, sorry, that's been done... i'm a day behind Razz
but I'll offer my dittonations - great games there! loved the zombies on zanzibar, and I'll second that mezmerizing Krystyn giggle Smile it's contagious... she could probably use it as a weapon when attacking a base by making all the enemies start laughing and miss the fact she's carrying the flag out the front door... just the sight of the MC laughing hysterically while carrying a flag through enemy territory would be enough to make someone laugh...

but alas, the sight of a zombie bouncing down a beach giggling like mad... well, that brightened my whole day Very Happy

I think that's happened inadvertently a few times! I've just started laughing in certain scuffles I get in, and I am shocked when I either take WAY too long to die, or I walk away with it with just shields down, and maybe a dent in my helmet, surrounded by dead enemy carcass.

Hee! Thanks, man! It's really, really hard not to giggle when you're a hopping green zombie with a glowy sword. What's not to be happy about? You've get yer big cutting knife, you've got your brain buffet keeping chilled in the water ...
