Mayor tries to make residents focus on positive 6/23

Quote:
Dear Aglaura community residents,

In response to the ever-increasing number of questions and comments I have been receiving about the "so-called" strange events going on in Aglaura, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to stop and take a deep breath. Relax and think a moment. Think about our beautiful town that we have all worked so hard to "re-make", after renaming it Aglaura. Think about the energy, effort, and desire you have all poured into your family businesses and the love and family warmth that fills each and every one of the homes here in our town. We truly have been blessed with an ideal place to call home.
Now, with that in mind, and in the clear bright light of the day (if we ever see the sun again, that is!) don't these alleged strange incidents seem less important, and almost somehow, mildly entertaining? Did you know that the overwhelming majority of every report we receive like this (and this is true on a national basis too, not just here in Aglaura) turns out to be either completely explainable by some normal means or completely groundless?
So please, relax, sit back and try and smile. We have a beautiful and warm summer ahead of us. And despite all the rain we've been swimming through here at the turn of the season, I'm positive there are brighter days ahead.

Pat J. Dobbs
Mayor of Aglaura

Don't worry be happy!!! Cool

"if we ever see the sun again, that is!"

What a weird thing to say. Confused

Not really if you're here on the East Coast. On the news the other day I heard we've only had 2 sunny days in the last 50. My backyard has turned into a marshland. Whoever heard of taking off your shoes before you walk thru the mud? I sink down into the ground and mud comes up past my ankles. We have baby wipes and paper towels by the door. I have ruined enough shoes and it's only June.
So, "if we ever see the sun again", is a perfect thing to say. Very Happy

If nothing else confirming that Aglaura is still in THIS universe, with us, getting wet. Very wet.

Yeah, I recently read that Washington DC has had more rain in the last 90 days than Seattle. Shocked

So it could have some perfectly normal explanation like, oh, say, the town is sitting on a major fault line and the flying crokery isn't flying, we have just been having earthquakes! Very Happy
