What about the actual text of the postcard?

It seems strange if you read it, it doesn't read fluidly. It's very disjointed, just seems a bit forced like they had to use certain letters at the beginning of each line of something.

it seems very short and to the point, not a big flowing letter....really the letters we've seen are very to the point...

[spec] Maybe our good friend Sente was forced into writing it? Maybe he isn't working under his own free will? Just a thought. Probably flawed. [/spec]

Image on reverse: 'Perplex City Sleeps' (artist unknown), #02 in a series of postcards depicting the city at night. The full set is available from the Acedemy gift shop.

1) Image on reverse? Which side? Could it be that the back of the postcard has to be reversed or something? Front side? I tried flipping it, even inverted the colors [the citiy in daylight?], but nothing found. :\
2) There is a series. Maybe we should watch out for more postcards comeing?
3) Academy gift shop? Man, I googled for nearly two hours and found nothing!

Is that a puzzle, anyway? And what about the vertically written text and the security logs??
They got me. I'm perplexed now... Bang Head Dunno Confused

what it means, is that the image on the reverse of the side from which you are reading from is "PerplexCity Sleeps"...

Yeah, i know that it wants to refer to the title of the picture. But i was just wondering if there was some kind of "other" meaning.
Brainstorming again: what if the city awakes? What about the luggage tags at the first PS page?
Quote:
"...So the piece of luggage attached to this tag seems to have gone from Melbourne to Singapore to London..."

All these airports...

So this might be the link to Melbourne?
I looked at the signature of Sente, and noticed the gradient [black-red]. If it were cut from this picture. I guess there is no importance to that...

We know that this "person" has been traveling around trying to find people to recruit, possibly it was a postcard sente sent to him to get him on the hunt....

Also with the Perplex City Sleeps....the ARG sleeps....and is going to be awakend soon.

IMHO it's not obvious if there is one person or more. The Mc might also be a group of people. And I think it'd be much easier for Sente to get a few acquainces around the world spread the postcards in cities, than pay someone to travel round the world. And it's faster, too.

"Mc, please expedite global release. S"
Like in Star Trek : "WE ARE THE BORG! YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!" Wink

[spec]And we also know that project syzygy is complete, but it is possible, that though the project itself is complete, the city is still asleep... [/spec]
Wow, I don't know what I meant with that. Very Happy

Hello all,

New here, and this is probably unfounded, but:

Dealing with the number on the postcard as a single numeric to letter Vignere cipher, using 2210 as the key, the first three letters of the Cipher are the same: AAA. The first 4 are AAAF.

I'm pretty new to the Cipher games, but if you do a ROT-22 on it, that gives you a WWW to start the number.

WWWB

I tried standard, +1 progressive, and autokeys starting with 2210, and all got gibberish. I am at work, and may not have time, but I want to try it with a +12 progressive key (Gatehouse 12) +2 (Twice Daily) and with a 22102310 key (2210 being one less than the date on the postcard, 23-10).

And then I should also try it with a -1 progressive key I guess.

If anyone has any ideas on this, and/or thinks it is worth pursuing, I'd love the help.

EDIT - I should also point out I noticed that this number is where the serial number, or company series # on a normal postcard is. So it could just be that.

I'm nearly positive that 'the Academy' is the The Perplex City Academy as seen on the top of the letter at perplexcity.com

It's possible that 2210 is a time stamp but if it is what relevance does it have? I think the key to considering the evidence we have available is to think about what sort of information it constitutes. I'm sure that there's plenty of other instances where 2210 is used and it's a question of which one is important.

And I'd be surprised if they put other postcards online for us to find when the one we've already seen was left lying around for people to find.
