puzzlemesharp here (preparing a new username for other puzzles...)
Thanks to all you folks (Mike, Brian, Charlie, Norman, Marlene, etc.) for a fun puzzle. The explanations are almost as interesting as the clues. We will eagerly anticipate a wrapup session and more info on which were red herrings, what was dropped, and what was last minute.
Happy New Year!

Let me add my congratulations to Mike and Brian and Paul and the rest of the diabolical puzzlemakers.
Most impressive is how you coordinated all the content across all the different media -- TV commercials, blogs, websites, and third-party websites like eBay. I'm sure the production hassles were legion, but overall it turned out great.
I'm looking forward to the post-mortem!

Hey everyone,
I've changed my account name to reflect the Meta nature of my posts here at Unfiction -- sorry for the confusion.
Now, as for a post puzzle meta-chat... where should that be held? I know there is a chat room here at Unfiction, but they've been so kind to us with regards to this forum I'm not sure we should "squat" in their chat rooms as well. Or should we?
I'm shooting for an evening chat with myself, Brian Clark, and Jim Gunshanan, perhaps Thursday night? Thoughts about date/time and chat room welcome.
As for official announcements, I think I prefer to discuss it in chat rather than forum postings, considering the complexity of everything and the number of questions sure to come out of it! Plus, I have to get permissions to make any formal announcements (which I am working on getting).
I wish everyone a happy, healthy 2005!

We also have a chat set up here at this board. It can be used by anyone one with mIRC. For those that don't have mIRC, there is a link for a java applet.
It can be easily moderated so the PM's don't get flooded by everyone talking at once.

MsB, when you get to the directory page http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/ and you look under the words "Arg: Legend of the Sacred Urns" you'll see a link for chat. That will open the java applet for #stienitz. For anyone with mIRC the chat room is irc.chat-solutions.org #steinitz

This sounds like the best solution to me, if the mods here are cool with it. I like the idea of being able to access it via an IRC client rather than a java applet, but the applet allows those less technologically inclined to join in.
I'm waiting to hear back from Jim G, but right now we're looking at this Thursday, 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PST which we hope allows as many people as possible to join in.

Maybe someone can get a transcript of this as well for those that may not be there?

Mike, Thursday at 9PM EST/6PM PST is great.
Thanks for setting this up. I was afraid we'd have to wait a couple weeks for the post-mortem too.

I'm stoked! This is going to be cool! I'm actually putting it in my datebook so I don't miss it.
Thanks, Mike!
