Possible HL2 arg?

Hello everybody,
The reason I post this here is that I have not yet finished the game and I may get the password by finishing it. And to be honest, it is a quite small change that there will be an official HL2 arg.

Nevertheless, I browsed to the official site for hl2 (www.half-life2.com), and I clicked on screenshots. On the sixth screenshot, as a hover-effect, G-Man comes up. Since I have not yet finished the game, I don't know who he is. When I clicked there, I got a password prompt, so I searched the source for the path.
After a bit (lit: a LOT) digging and redirection in the source code, I finally managed to get the URL for the password: http://www.half-life2.com/secret/secondtest/entry.php .

Well considering: (dont read this if you've not finished HL2)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Gordon was put back into the slow-time warp by G-Man at the end....looks like a HL3 en route... further conflict with the combine, like resistance fighting across the universe

Might be just teaser of HL3 maybe? or just behind the scenes footage or further addition to the storyline. But who knows until the password is known Smile

[edit]

Doing a search for SecondTest and Half-Life 2 does show a few posts on various sites about it, very ARG-esq Smile

Thinking about it, if you ever played Opposing Forces for HL1, the soldier did meet G-Man and was told he wasnt exactly what he was looking for.... maybe G-Man is looking for more people to join him, making a very good possible base for a ARG....oooo interested now Smile

irc.jolt.co.uk #secondtest is the hotspot for it.

On this topic and off it somewhat also. There is a book recently published through Prima (and an interesting taster of it can be accessed on there website) called 'Half-Life: Raising the bar'. It is supported by Valve and gives a greater insight into the creation and transformation of the world of half-life. It also contains information on deleted parts of the sequel that shed much light on the story. My copy is on order, and i'm still travelling and won't be home for a bit yet. However back on-topic if the username and password is ingame then this book will have it somewhere, even if some guesswork is needed on our part.

Heh.. I got the first two chapters along with my collector's edition of HL2. I really recommend it, and I think I'm gonna buy it as soon as I get my visa card..
