November 23?

I'm new to this, so perhaps I'm off-track, but I was tinkering around with November 23 online and, in the Wikipedia listing for November 23 I found a listing for a James Glynn, born 11/23/48. He doesn't have an entry in the wiki, just a listing on the page for November 23 saying he is a "businessman, bartender, mailman". Could he be the James in the cache emails?

Also, since the game is being run from the UK, I was looking for English historical events on November 23--Perkin Warbeck, a semi-famous pretender to the English throne, was hanged on this day for trying to escape from the Tower of London.

In general, are these the kinds of associations that one would or should be thinking about for a game like this?

Be kind, I'm new. Smile

Nov 23 is date on postcard

November 23 is the date on the post card found in Italy and in NC. It could certainly be intended as simply chronology, since it could have been printed on that date, but I thought it might be worth looking into. (But I am new and clueless...)

Ahh indeed i see now, just reminded by my partner when i mentioned it also....i feel dumb, but it is 9:55am Smile

While James Glynn is interesting, i dont think its anything serious but then again googling for the name shows nothing bar wikipedia....

I'm gonna check the Wiki page history to see who edited it Smile

Nov 23 1948 turns into 23 11 48

I'm sure it's just coincidence, but on the theory that James Glynn is really someone in the game, if you take his birthday, 11/23/48 and put it into British date form, you get 23/11/48, which does have 148 in it, the number we've already seen from the Marchant quote.

No clue whether this is useful. If it were, it might also yield 231?

Not only, but I think the 48 was the sequence we all noticed repeating in the long number in the postcard.... hmmm.......

no...lol, what I meant was, could the date of the commencement of the game be encoded in the long string of numbers under the semacode, (rather than the actaul date being the number).

Well, it all depends on when you're taking as the start of your calendar, but I guess it could mean that the game starts on the 22nd of January in the year 545,484,848,465,100,503,215.

Although given that our solar system hasn't even been round for that long (or, IIRC, our universe, though I'd have to check that to be sure) regardless of whether you subscribe to the Christian belief or the scientific belief, I'm fairly sure that's not it Smile

And if we're basing it on the Gregorian calendar, well, I'm not sure I can wait that long.....
