Sminky,
Nice try but I think you should check the source of your material.
The spelling errors you have found are based on the Cache entries in the S+S Wiki.
Those spelling errors are not present in the actual entries in the hidingroom cache (either ibidem or confer).
But seeing as you've brought them to light maybe you might edit the Wiki accordingly now?
Always,
The Cryptic Celt.

The errors in the ibidem cache were taken out when the new confer cache came to light. I remember them being in the original.

what if we are supposed to look at the words of the spelling mistakes and not the actual letters. Maybe a message in there perhaps .....somewhere????

I think Cryptic_celt is correct...the typos from the S&S Wiki Cache are not the key here. I assume this was typed in to Wiki by someone...any way to confirm that these weren't the transcribers typos?
When I logged in using the ibidem password & my email address back on the 22nd of Dec., I received an email from Jon welcoming me and indicating "ibidem is not entirely sufficient as a password, for it leads to as much error as truth (although mistakes can be extremely revealing)". At the time of this email, the only difference between the ibidem Cache and the "confer" Cache were the various date changes.
My assumption has been that it is these changes in dates that are the key to this. In his Dec. 21st entry, Jon writes "I really hope that my allies understand the difference that I've made". Could this be a reference to a numerical difference he has made in changing the dates? If you add up all the changes in dates, there is a net six day difference. Could it be that he will call not at dawn of Jan 1, but dawn of Jan 7th (i.e. add the 6 day difference to what he has indicated?).

date discrepancies
Again, apologies if this has alread been covered by someone else - I wan't sure exactly what to search for and would have had to read all the posts in the "Cache" - very lazy of me not to do so!.. so Rowan, I hope you don't get even more indentations in your forehead from banging it against the keyboard !
here goes... quite a few of us think the date differences matter, so I've gone through the date discrepancies in the original "Ibidem" Cache as well as the obvious date changes in the "Confer" cache
IBIDEM 02/04 Fri CONFER 01/04 (Thu)
IBIDEM 4/4 – Sun website date 20/04 (tues) !!
IBIDEM 24/4 Saturday – Film night was Thurs 22/4
IBIDEM 5/5 (Wed) Starwars joke 4/5 (tues)
IBIDEM 10/5 (Mon) websites (supposedly "today" )are 8/5 (Sat)
IBIDEM 21/5 (Fri) website 6/6!! (Sun)
IBIDEM 24/5 (Mon) website 25/5 (Tues)
IBIDEM 23/7 (Fri) film was on 24/7 (Sat)
IBIDEM 11/8 (Wed) CONFER 13/8 (Fri)
IBIDEM 13/8 (Fri) link added to FR on 21/12 CONFER 14/8 (Sat)
IBIDEM 29/8 (Sun) CONFER 27/8 (Fri)
IBIDEM 25/9 (sat) "going" to library on Sat?? – is this 23/9 or 24/9
IBIDEM 27/9 (Mon) went to library "yesterday" ?
IBIDEM 23/10 (Sat) CONFER 31/10 (Sun)
CONFER 21/12 (Tues) new entry
I don't know if all this has any relevance, as i can't find any patterns... so have probs wasted loadsa time and will incur the Wrath of Rowan - what the heck - it's all good fun, ja
PS... sorry I couldn't do this in columns to make easier viewing like Wierdoguest did above, but don't know how to do this
any tips v welcome...

As i explained previously - the spelling mistakes were deleted from the ibidem cache when the new confer cache arrived so you would not see the difference between the two now. There are spelling mistakes in other areas other than the cache so i do believe that they are relevant .

Make columns by using the [ code ] and [ /code ] tags. This will result in the following:
Code:
but remove the spaces from the tags!
It will display text in nonproportional font. This will allow you to align text in columns.
It is best to use notepad-like editor with nonproportional font to format the text first and copy/paste it into the reply box from there.

Just to add another dimension of confusion to this thread ;) I found out that the "New Order Day" (22nd April) doesn't seem to reference the band New Order, but may be related to the Imperial Calendar from Star Wars....
http://users.bigpond.net.au/hooly/203-calendar/cal0-index.htm
although those dates don't seem to match up with our Gregorian calendar.

Note that the spelling mistake for Dec 21st entry is in the Wiki, not in the actual confer cache. Given that there is no way to confirm which spelling errors were in the original cache and which were made when it was typed into Wiki, i think its unlikely that "jon" would make these spelling errors the key to tracking him down.

On the friendsunited site, you can send a voice message. Maybe that's what Jon meant by giving a call?
apart from The Friends United site giving us the password for the CONFER cache - does it have any other functions?
is anyone a paid up member & sent Jon a voice message
"I will call my supporters.." - are the "supporters" he s referring to the members of the Butterfly Preservation Society
