Good play... It's nice to see the people signing up and posting instead of lurking

Ooooooh when will it start?! Hey there,
Just want to say I'm really excited (and anxious) for the game to start! This is far one of the best things I have come across yet and I am at the ready to start helping out and be mind-boggled by all the weird clues!
Just one think to ask... how do we know when it's started or what to look for?
Jenny

i guess we'll notice. but as projectsyzygy.com says it is now complete, so it could be that it is launched. dunno.

Hi Jenny, that's the fun part of it, we don't know when or where it's going to start. It could be in via email, by a site update, in your garden or anything

That is the most horrifying thought. Ever. I don't want any powerful cubes or men foaming at the mouth at the mention of it showing up on my doorstep!

I heard about this back when I heard about ARGs. How was that again?....Anyways, I'm gonna try and keep up with this one.

Postcards are now officially evil.

Just a matter of interest, me being new here and all.
I am not very IT minded, I know how to look for links in source code but that is about it.
I have a limited knowledge of encyption techniques.
ie I have seen the phrases pigpen and vignere square used and know what they are and how to solve them.
I also have a good knowledge of things in general, ie what a semacode is and how to find a site that will let me translate braille or binary.
I often find myself lost with what poeple are talking about though and it seems far above my skill level..
Is there a basic list of skills that are helpful in these things? It would be greatfor us newbies if someone could say it would help if you could do this.

Heh, I was beaten to posting that link
But I was also going to say that everyone finds their own niche when playing a game. Some people are really into the computing and encryption stuff, others just want to follow the storyline and get involved in puzzles when it takes their fancy, others want to spend all day talking to in-game characters on IM systems, and there are also a load of people who just lurk and follow along quietly. The path taken is up to you!
Don't be put off by that "e numbers" thread - we're not all maths geeks
