Well, for those of you who got to play against Me(DaShmo Guest 1) and my friends Dashmo and "MadMax"(DaShmo Guest 2), I apologize for my friends being jack@$$es. Embarassed

If I had known they weren't gonna play fair I would have just convinced them to go get hammered instead, which MadMax already accomplished.

So, I'm not inviting them to play with my beekeeping friends again, bleh. Cursing

Add my vote for the 'strategy 101' class. I always feel nervous about what to do on all of the team-based games. Other than some rote actions like "I'm going for the rifle/rockets/sword/vehicle closest to me," I have little idea what to do.

Also, I feel really rusty on the geometry cheating techniques. Can we start another argument about that while we're learning it?

are anyone else's stats on bungie.net screwed up now? In every category it tells me 'no games played'. But if I go to look at my games themselves, they still show up there. Strange.

Since strategy 101 has been mentioned, I threw together something on my favorite Zanzibar strategy assault. The attached jpeg is labeled with points referenced here.

It's best to run this with 3 (or more) players; a bomb carrier and 2 supporters. You all start off along the red line from the beach, onto the seawall. At point 1, the bomb carrier stops off and grabs the invisibliity. The other two players look around the area and make sure the turret isn't occupied. If it is, it'll need to be taken care of.

Move all 3 together to point 2, using the rocks as cover. At this point the bomb carrier continues to follow red, while the other two break off and follow the blue line.

Bomb carrier (now invisible) advances to point 3, and hides behind the rock. The 2 support players charge in the ground level front door where the blue line ends. Their goal is to both provide a distraction and try to take out at least a couple defenders. Make lots of noise here, it's fun Smile

Once the distraction starts, the bomb carrier crouch walks from point 3 up into the upper level of the base. If the immediate hallway is clear, keep crouch walking. Otherwise, just stand up and run for it. Move into the ledge where the gate switch is. Drop down directly into the bombing area. With a little luck, the defenders will be too occupied to even notice you, since you're both cloaked and not appearing on radar.

At the very least, I find this almost always gets the bomb where it needs to be.

If you've got more players available, having a shotgunner crouch walk along with the bomb carrier can help sometimes.

If you're stuck in a matchmaking game with, shall we say, less than average players, you can try it by yourself too. It's a little harder to do with no support, but it's worked for me a couple times.

My buddies and I have come up with a number of good strats-for assault games, distractions generally work well enough for one point...but on Zanzibar and Burial Mounds, I find the best bet is to vehicle rush the base to catch them off guard. On Zanzibar, using the ghosts to pilot in and open the gate works great, since you can move the hog in almost immediately after, along with sniper support removing the rocket from the equation. On Burial Mounds, well it's all about goin up by the skeleton structure in the hog, and moving into their base. You can usually get in while someone's goin for the rocket, another's off for the sword, and all they got left is a few guys with SMGs, a sniper, and a plasma rifle.

If I may offer my (not-so-humble) advice, I'd suggest brushing up on the various cheating (or glitch) techniques used en masse to know how to prepare for it in the event of it happening. The standby modem cheat and the dummy Warthog passenger are both pains in the behind.

Well I finally finished the video of us flying all over Headlong. The video is here on my website, hosted by my brother's server.

If anyone can mirror this file I would apprieciate it. I don't want to overload his server.

Thanks to INCyr, Silrn, Silrn's Guest (B0G) and myself for discovering the 'feature', and to Rendon and Lame Chicken for flying around with us. Also those of you who got to play that game are awesome too.

Yeah, evidentily I went to bed just before Elan came on too. Stupid Headache. GAH!

Astro, Silrn does not post here, but any communique that needs to reach him can be forwarded through here. Ya know, when I get around to looking at these things. It's not like I'm on here every day or so. Wink And it was B0G who "discovered" the feature. His friend showed him the first wraith jump site, and we went around and found the rest.

What happened to that training session? I was on till just after 10pm EST, and the last I saw of you, Angelo, was middle of the afternoon. Not that I knew about it, but I would have been interested in it anyway. And I think most of us still have a ways to go to catch up to you, Angelo, much less pass you in skill. But we're gaining on you fast, especially some of the people who were "newbies" in november. Playing with some of them reminds me of the song "Tainted Love"....

Last night xbox live hated me. After a few good hours of gameplay, it started booting me from games (again).

I noticed that when I get killed in a team based game, the respawn timer will hang but i can still see other people running around. Next thing you know, I'm at a blue screen. Then it drops the game and (from my end) it looks like everyone else dropped and I'm in 1st place.

But the last game I played, I only made it 3 seconds in-game before it dropped me out. I drove the warthog for a few feet then was dropped. After that, I could not get into another game. When I accepted every invite that was sent to me, I received the "Xbox live network is having problems, sorry" message. I even rebooted my xbox twice and reset my cable modem.

Any tips? This only seems to happen on ranked team games (regardless of team size). Has this happened to anyone else? It happens to me reguarly. I'm starting to suspect that it's my ISP. Since I'm broke, I only have 256k up and down. But that seems to be enough the rest of the time.

<edit>Added the stuff about teams only</edit>

Robo, you might want to get intouch with XBox live support. I believe the number is 800-4MY-XBOX. I take no responsibility for the quality of the service you receive, though.

LOL yes indeed.
To be more specific it appeared as though Vector and i had been promoted to godhood, as Our Gigantic Bodies towered over the tallest features of the map. LOL.

I caught the process of doing it on tape, but missed the results due to my spawn point. luckily though, Vectorb pulled it off and i have footage of his corpse flailed about the map aswell.
editing this footage into vids one at a time. a few are going to be released ASAP, like for instance our new bonified exclusive warthog launching routine (catch it tonight)
Some of the others (10 to be exact) will be hosted as unlockable treats on WLB.
