 		Question
Greetings all. I am new to this ARG gaming.. and actually have taken it in pretty well. I signed up for CTW and currently awaiting "confirmation" for my entry.. but meanwhile.. I'm trying to figure out a couple of things...

* Should I try to solve the puzzle/story from the beginning.. and hope to catch up eventually? OR should I try to follow the guides/walkthroughs.. just to get me upto speed to be on the same page as everyone.

* I am completely NEW to the "code" deal. I know there are many "tools" available to decode various puzzles/codes.. but didn't know if there was a "tutorial" or sorts that can help me to recognize different codes and so on.

Any other help would be appreciated...

Peter I would try to get up to speed with where the story is now by using the guide, trail, (you can find links to most pertinant stuff here: http://www.mirlandano.com/ctwql.html), this forum etc.... I couldn't imagine trying to start at the beginning and solve your way to now by yourself as a newbie.... as for the decoding I too am very new to this stuff.... often just observe the wizards at work... however, I have been helpful as I don't have "preconceptions" and sometimes notice things they don't... also hanging out in the IRC chat rooms #unfiction and #ctw is very helpful... make sure to read the tutorial forums here http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=7 .... folks are very willing to help and answer questions.... welcome and have fun!!! Very Happy

 		Hey Peter, just like a lot of people playing, I started chasing the Wish after it had already started. What I found to be a huge help catching up was http://melangerie.com/ctw/. If you don't mind spoilers and just want to get up to speed it's a great site! (It's only updated til about the end of May, but is still a valuable resource). And like kimer says, spending time in the IRC chat rooms is a good way to meet people and get any other questions you've got answered.
