Moriarty70's h2g2 posts

Figured this would make a good new thread. thus pointed out in IRC that he's already posted again after his original explanation: a comment on a connection between the TS Eliot poem Macavity and the Sherlock Holmes character Moriarty. He did say not everything he posted would be involved with this, but still, we might as well take a look at it to be sure this is one of those.

Moriarty posted an entry today in the h2g2 on "Evil's Place in Society." As of now, he is still piecing it together and it is full of spelling errors, etc. In addition having an interest in his namesake (as seen by his observance of the MacAvity musings) he also apparently has an interest in the concept of "evil" in general.

One is reminded of Sidewinder's inquiring as to who was the villain in Les Mis and what the real meaning of the biblical serpent is. It seems that questioning the nature of evil is a philosophical theme for the Rainman crew, perhaps as a method of rationalization. Moriarty even acknowledges this similarity in a response to a comment to his entry: "Bart and I share a united view on ambiguos (sic) villians, such as Javert."

One interesting thing about Moriarty's entry is that it uses one of our flyer cities as an example. "A person won't randomly start a snowball fight in the middle of Toronto for two reasons, 1) There's no snow. 2) More importantly, they were taught that throwing a snowball is wrong." This is probably a mere coincidence, but I thought it was worth noting.

Apparantly this is where the winning poster will be posted there.

Sorry Bart

Since you all thought I have givin up on all of you, I'm still here. As a way to make up to Bart what he feels was a major faux pas on my behalf, I'll be posting a link to the winning poster so anyone who comes by can see it and maybe even I'll get him some more people.
