The Greatest American

It seems it's our turn to vote for our own great citizen. At least we'll have the distinction of *not* nominating a hockey player.

Enter your five nominations for The Greatest American at http://tv.channel.aol.com/greatestamerican The results will be aired on Discovery Channel later this year.

/me votes for Jamesi

I'm assuming by "American" they really mean North American.

True and interesting story... for the Greatest Canadian contest, a local DJ put a link up to the radio website for people to vote for him (as a joke) as Greatest Canadian... he had enough votes to put him at 34th.

Now that's marketing. And democracy. A few links:

Power 97 Website has some newspaper scans
University of Manitoba newspaper The Manitoban
Boozebros.ca
Filibuster Cartoons
