About 8 days ago. >.<
We either burned through their puzzles too fast, or the ending was the suckiest known to man. That, or we totally and completely missed something, and they won't give us clues.
Either way, I'm completely boggled as to why there's this halt.

As I recall from metacortechs.com there were a few times when we went a week without anything new. I haven't seen any story resolution here whatsoever. So I doubt you've solved everything or that they're done giving the players new stuff.

So was that it? It's been quite some time now... though there wasn't really an ending.
All those puzzles for...that?

There wasn't really a "middle", either. It saddens me to say it, but I think that's it Crying or Very sad I do hope that this can somehow be picked up later - if this is an unexpected stall in the game - but I'm not sure what believable in-game explanations could be offered for the two-week silence. Wah. I was so hyped up about this, too...

Heh, that was a lovely trout. (linky)
I'm also a little confused - it really did seem like they were building up to something, and then fizzz. Ah well...I guess if they can't do it right, they might as well not.

poof!

And just when I found something that grabbed my attention..

Probably their hosting account was frozen for provoking hackers on a shared server, and they can't login to make changes anymore Smile whatever happened, it doesn't look good!

So what's everyone playing these days?

Thats possible but they should still be able to alter the dns record to point the site somewhere else.

Ahh Slumberil, when I first found this and saw the Metacortex reference I had almost assumed it was a "sequel" ARG to the amazing Metacortechs ARG from back in the day of the 'Urchins.

Thing is, I see this revolving heavily around the closed beta of a game not everyone has access to, not to mention-- it's the Matrix, didn't interest in that end after the last movie?

Updates seem to have stalled as well, I'm disappointed that I may have caught this too late.

it's not right.....

Sad This, frankly, is +3|-| 5|_|x0r. The ARGness must not end! I know I'm late on saying something about the -ahem- "ending", but y'know....

*Scisco goes to cry in a corner and take slumberil pills...

To clear it up for you, it involved nothing in beta. The store locator, is for hardlines, and it's a public page, because someone made a sig accessible only from a beta forum post (a member of my faction, amazingly Very Happy), that located hardlines for people - was very handy, Walrus mentioned it in a public interview (vaguely) and all that.
It was exposed (by myself) the HTTP referrer could easily be spoofed, so after all that, the HL locator made it to the web, as a store locator.
That's the only thing that even remotely had to do with the beta game.
This is public, and the puzzles have been solved by people that aren't even the hugest of Matrix fans.
