Okay got an idea regarding the postcard that I cannot find mentioned anywhere else.
I it possible that the long number represents the key input of a text message with 2210 being the model of phone used?
Nokia made a 2210 but I don't know if anything is special about the keypad that would make this number useful.
I don't know if anyone has tried this before or if anyone wants to try it now. i am busy on another idea that is taking some time.

I have to say, given lack of any other information, I think the postcard holds the key to the game so far.

Will let you know what I turn up.

Have searched for this but can't find an answer - my knowledge of semacodes is Embarassed - is it complete or could we be missing a bit (possibly from one of the other cards in the series) which would go with the numbers we already have but can make sod all sense of?
Realize this isn't any help at all, but work a bit slack just now....

The mobile phone idea text idea is a good one, nice lateral thinking. All recent nokias I've seen use two systems to enter txt that you can swap between. T9 predictive text and 'old style' multiple button pushes per letter text. Has anyone tried these (before I go wasting hours doing it myself)?

I've tried it (albeit not on the Nokia) - seems like such a good idea - just returned rubbish for me too. Sad

Yeah I tried to make sense of it as well, although only briefly. That is what made me wonder if the phone model was important, ie are the letters on different keys.
Don't think predictive would work because you would need to know where the spaces are, and beside the motorola predictive is crap. I use it so I know.
The only thing after that is if it gives us an encrypted text, but that sounds to my own ears like straws being clutched. Rolling Eyes
Still have one more option on this before my brain has frazzled on it.

The discussion about phones made me wonder what the number 221545484848465100503215 would sound like if converted to touch tones.

You can try it here: DTMF Tone Generator Applet

It sounds a bit musical, but I dont know, does it sound familiar to anyone?

Tried the number in the Nokia tone composer on a 3315, nothing there. I think we're getting desperate. At the moment I'm trying to work out if the number sequence refers to letters in sente's message on the postcard...has anyone tried this?

you can take a look here (if you haven't done so already): http://wiki.incognitus.net/ppc/index.php/Postcard_Code

the methods and theories tested there haven't worked, however, the list might not be complete. but at least you can get an overview of what has been done before.

city codes????

This is probably nuttin' but I want to feel like I'm contributing SOMETHING. Smile
When you break the numbers down into fours, they are city codes at this website:
www.weltgebetsuhr.de/wgb/html/englisch/CityCodeList.doc

The cities are extremely obscure...for example 2215 is Zakinthos is. in Greece. I have no idea what the codes are used for but it's the only site I found that had all the number in it. Well, besides the "here's everyone in the whole world's pin number" site. Very Happy

If we're going for obscure longshots...has anyone written out the musical letters you get when punching the number into a touch-tone phone?

If you've got that can you write out the actual notes used (sorry - not got perfect pitch!). eg. C- C- D?
- C

v Oh. Okay... *looks upset* I got really psyched up there. Sad
