Sal and I are doing business

My first attempt to contact Sal Marzano went like this:

Mr. Marzano:

Pardon the intrusion on your busy day. I am an
associate of Dale Sprague and think that it might be
possible to strike a business deal that would help
both you and I.

Mr. Sprague is on an "errand" for you. I also realize
that you are concerned about your control over him. It
would be wise if Dale understood that you have that
control. Perhaps if you were consistently kept up to
date on his whereabouts or activities by a neutral
party, you would be able to make your control more
clear to him, getting better results.

It strikes me that there may be other acquaintances
that you would also like to know more about. this
could be negotiated, as well.

I apologize for my boldness, but I'm sure that - as
businessmen - we both understand the law of supply and
demand. I would be happy to make Mr. Sprague's (or any
other party's) actions more clear to you, given the
right financial incentive.

:k:
---------------------------------------------------
I got no answer. I tried again:

Mr. Marzano:

I can understand your reluctance to use outside services to help with debt collection. I can assure you, however, that I pride myself on being professional, direct, and very discrete. If you would choose to enter into a gentleman's agreement with me, I think it would be a very satisfactory transaction for us both.

The law of supply and demand encourages men such as you and I to provide a needed service if we are able. My understanding is that you have an outstanding debtor and would find it useful to know how to contact him regarding repayment, as is your due. I can provide you with the information that you would need in order to complete your transaction with him, without further searching over hill and dale.

I'm certain that we can come to some understanding regarding what the value of these services would be. Let us enter into a discussion and come to an agreement. I look forward to hearing from you.

:k:

---------------------------------------------

And then this is what I got back, a couple of weeks later:

Yo :k:
Thinking about your message. I may have something for you.
You got a safe phone number I can call?
Sal Marzano

---------------------------------------------

My reply was:

Mr. Marzano:

Whet my appetite. I have what you need. What do you
have?

correction

I posted a letter in error. The first letter of that post above is really the last one sent, and is to DON Marzano. I sent it at the same time that I sent the letter to Sal. The board won't allow me to go back and edit the post. Pardon the confusion.

As this time, I haven't heard back from either Marzano. The last contact I had with Sal is the one where I ask him to whet my appetite. The last contact I tried with Don was the very first letter in that post, where I make mention that I might be able to give the Don some aid with his "control" issues over Dale. Will we be able to make use of the rift between Sal and Don? It depends on the reply to these.

Interestingly, Don's letter mentioning "control" is now gone from Dale's mailbox. Were we supposed to see it?

first letter to Sal, corrected.

Here is the first contact with Sal:

I understand that the Brothers Marzano have an
outstanding creditor. As a businessman, I know that it
can put a strain on the balance sheet when money is
owed.

I wonder, with all due respect, if the fmaily would
like my help in identifying the whereabouts of their
creditor? At this time I am actively seeking for him,
in ways that the family may not have access to.

After searching over hill and dale, if I were to
locate said creditor, I would hope that we could come
to some business arrangement where my services would
be subject to recompense. After all, one hand washes
the other, right?

:k:

--------------

This is the first letter, the one that he didn't respond to.
