UPDATE: Live Journal, June 25th, new password

3:54 pm For all you lurking haXX0rz, I've changed my password again. I'm pretty sure I didn't read that email, yet it was marked "read"...

After hopping off of the train in Alexandria, I walked down the tracks to the King Street station. Passing beneath the overpass to the Metro side, I looked across the parking lot to the buildings beyond and my gaze fell upon a cafe with a name that drew me. I felt a certain affinity for it then, as now. I haven't forgotten it since, and I'm not worried I'll forget it in the future.

Just an observation..

Folks, use the mark as unread option, when you're done reading the new e-mails in his account. You will avoid tipping him off by doing so, and thereby prevent him from changing his password again.

It'll make things easier for you lot.

So I don't suppose any of you are near Alexandria and could go find the name of this cafe he's talking about so we could get back into his email account?

Well, there's a Joe Theisman's restaurant there, and a variety of smaller restaurants in the immediate area of the station on King Street. A Thai place. The Rocket Cafe also comes to mind.

But if he is being literal about the cafe being in the building across the metro parking lot after you go under the underpass, only Joe Theisman's qualifies. Those others are on King Street. I was thinking Hard Times Cafe too, but that is a couple blocks down and not even visible from where Ewan says he was. I am sure there are other restaurants in that building, just not sure what they are and mapquest etc not very helpful. I'll try to drive by.

FLUP: I called the Embassy Suites Hotel that is also in that block and their operator (no concierge desk!) says Joe Theisman's is the only restaurant across from the station. I still think I'll drive by tonight

In hopes that some other restaurant names may trigger a thought amongst y'all.

Some restaurant/bars that are possibly visible from the same location:

Seagar's (in the Hilton, outside entrance and seating visible from lot)

Stella's Restaurant Bar Patio (in the Embassy Suites hotel next door to Theisman's building - not really visible from the lot but has a sign facing the street that might be, depending on the trees)

Duke's Bar & Grille (inside hotel, but sign outside also possibly visible from lot)

Thai Peppers Restaurant (on King Street next to the Hilton, visible depending where you are in the metro lot)

Two nearby (but not visible from the lot) "cafes" a little farther down King Street:
Uptowner Coffee Bar Cafe
Casablanca and Rick's Cafe

Finally, the Embassy Suites has a Cafe Calliope, but all the signage is on the other side. Nothing facing the metro lot.

Joe Theisman's meanwhile, also is not a "cafe" but rather a Grill; it does have a lot of outside seating that suggest a cafe . . .
