Hell.

I'm trying to catch the image to compare, but I'm not very good at working with flash. If anyone has the ability to check/capture those images, I have the feeling there may be something there. But it's moving way too fast to the +10, 0, -10 screen for me.

i dont think you'll be able to capture smooth images of the head.
the motion effect in flash is made by applying a 'motion blur' filter to the image, and hence the words will appear blurred.
You will only be able to see clear words or phrases on a still picture of the head.
As I said, you can see the words "of the" "lower" "common" and you can just make out "animals".
This is consistent with most modern phrenology heads which say
"Summary of the propensities common to man and the lower animals".

i'd be surprised if there was a message there.

Phrenology Head

I don't know, maybe I'm chasing to no purpose. But the 'Know Thyself' being on the old phrenology magazine, makes me think that we need to look to an older phrenology bust (currently I'm trying to track down good pictures of the Fowler head, supposedly the standard in the 19th century) and see what differences are there. I'll let you guys know if it yields any results-until then, I think it's just going to be a matter of split-screening, with the Fowler image on one side and the Sable&Shuck test on the other.

I have one of these heads at home.

It says

i wouldn't read too much into it. It's on every phrenology head!

Know thyself - that's exactly what phrenology is about.

Oil beef hooked. That's exactly what it says. Well, it sounds to me like it's a lot of nothing, in that case. And here I was getting a swelled head...

One question: is there text on the top of it, as well?

Oil beef hooked? Screwy

I don't know about you guys, but if they had made one of those phrenology heads based upon my skull, I'm sure the different regions would read: "Ground Beef", "Sausage", "Meat Bi-Products", "SPAM" etc. Laughing

What about the text on top of the head, is there one on "your" head as well??

yes: on the top it says

"sentiments proper to man"
this is matched with the sections refering to
Self-Esteem.
Love of Approbation.
Cautiousness.
Benevolence.

anything else you want to know?

Are there any numbers associated with the various sections. Do you know if there is a standard numbering associated with the sections?

I found a website that has the sections numbered and they are not the same as the S&S head. Whether we can get any clues from a comparison, I don't know. I have a list started with the S&S numbers for each section.

Here is the website I am talking about

Yes, try keeping it in front of you while accessing the sable and shuck site, and let us know if anything is jarringly different.

Though I think we might need a Fowler Head, based on the 'know thyself' reference. Hard to say.

I have determined that S&S used the George Combe head. As far as I can determine, the numbers and organs match his head.
