[Halo2] Cheating in the game viewer? We were playing against a team last night and while defending the base...we get the blue screen. After we come back in, two of us see "game over" and they had scored, making it 2-1. It was tied 1-1 but in the afterstats, it showed we had won. Our other teammates had a different screen showing that we had lost. Immediately we checked online and it showed us having a loss. Not sure what the hell happened, but definitely something weird.

Sounds like a hideous combo of Standby cheating and a netsplit.
Things like that may not be visible on the GV, but Bungie and XBL have access to much more detailed info, such as connection/network status throughout the game, etc.

Can you look at the game overview and tell if there was cheating?

Personally, I can't find anything overtly incriminating.
A netsplit is accidental; no one is to blame but the network.
Standby is different, though.
You can report them, and if Bungie and Xbox Live confirm any foul play, they will take action.

Hiya,
What is this "standby" thing of which you speak? I know the net goes down occasionally (and you can hear everyone whining about it!), but is there a way to deliberately make the network connection die so that your team can cheat?
Cheers!

Sometimes, you don't even get the blue screen. You'll be standing at the base, watching your flag wave in a non-existent wind, and then suddenly, it's gone. A few seconds later, you hear the announcement that the flag has been captured. And then it will happen again, because cheating bastards are also quite often GREEDY bastards.

Ahhh! Thanks! I'll bear that in mind. It is good to know that they wil be dealt with so harshly though.
I think I might create my own XBL account over the weekend, and when I do I'll probably come and join the Beekeepers clan - hope that's ok!

Isnt' that dummying, not standbying?

Client Standby is what is described here.

Ah. I was referring to Krystyn's after comments. I've never heard of Standbying without a blue screen. Hence, what she described sounded more like dummying to me.

It is hard to tell the difference between Dummying and Client Standby, yes.
But as long as you know it is cheating, the method is irrelevant.

Last night while playing I came across a glitch I had never seen before and I don't know how they did it.
Here is the Game viewer for it: BIG TEAM BATTLE
Here's the glitch. As you can see in the game viewer we were the Blue team , however one of my teammates, NJWOODYEE , showed up in-game as a RED PLAYER . Before everyone replies that the blue team Elites look red sometimes dependant on the users secondary color selection, the player was a SPARTAN .
I was baffled as I looked around the interior of our base and saw a red Spartan with a "Friend indicator Avitar" above his head. I had to double check that I was on the Blue team . When I targeted him with my weapon the targeting retical showed GREEN , as it does when you aim at a teammate.
I did a search and this was the only related subject I could find on glitching and team color change: Related Post Here 2nd post on the page.
Has anyone else seen this or does anyone know how they are doing this? If it worked to confuse me, the I know it confused the Red Team.
Edit: Added the players name, NJWOODYEE.
