I'll have to send Team Idaho's greetings and love along with ThaJinx then. A trip to Brazil at the end of April and a new baby girl due May 23rd (let alone the $ to get to Chicago) pretty much preclude me from this one.

Make sure we get lots of details afterwards!

Definitely, chief! How ironic that Idaho's representative is the California native ;D

If Idaho's getting the same influx of californians as western Montana has had the last five years or so I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. Any way hope to see you there TheJinx

I'm assuming that means easily accessible by metro?

May 13 - May 15!

ooo....
hmmm....

ironicly, all of my finals fall on the 13th. so I may bee unable to arrive until the 14th. which might very well put a hitch in hova and loismustdie's (siege aswell) plans to possibly hitch a ride.
i mean, for 2 days, then to drive all the way back seems a bit tedious.

If no one else from this group is going to join me, then I'll probably not go, since it is a 15-16 hour trip, and I will be stuck doing tests for most of the first day.
I will definatly be at ARG fest-o-con, but as far as the hivemeet... I really want to make it happen, and I will leave it in the capable hands of the others from the carpool.

The problem is, the hotel/rate that I got is connected to Anime Central... and you have (to claim) to be part of the convention to get the rate.

Should I post the information here so people can take advantage of this? Or would that be a bad thing and get me reprimanded?
I assume the convention has a certain number of rooms that are blocked off at that rate. If there were enough of us beekeepers going that we would threaten to shut out legitimate convention goers, then it would be unethical to use the information. If there are so few of us going that we wouldn't be a significant share of the rooms, then there is no harm in taking advantage of the opportunity. Indeed, we might boost the convention's good will with the hotel and improve the convention's prospects for next year.

Would anyone besides Krystyn and me be interested in going to this:

http://www.neofuturists.org - Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind

one of the nights we're there? It could be fun to go as a group.

Also, the sooner we can get some sort of idea of the numbers of people we can expect, the easier it will be to come up with some place where we can all get together.

Krystyn was telling me about that, and it sounded interesting. I'd probably be up for checking it out. Plus, it looks like it's relatively cheap ($8-$13).

Depending on what else was going on (like the Anime Convention), I'd be up for going.

The neofuturists are wonderful... I've seen them a couple of times... (I even have a T.M.L.M.T.B.G.B. baseball cap) As can be expected with the whole rapid-fire plays thing, the comedy/drama is either there or not, but when it's on, it's on. Good show, and cheap too! Smile
