The Cache 3....(?)

Just a thought:
Jon will contact us 'The usual way'.
As I recall, he rused that before, and in that case he was refering to the Cache. Thinking about this, (as said before..) my idea is, he has left us clues about the password in our last findings. The photo, maybe the Aleph/star (what I think is in the text of S+S's page Aleph/Stellar).
The previous cache codes, were Confer and Ibidem. Which means in that order: Compare in the same text/place... which was refered also to the dates in the cache.
The new code could be in line with that thought... Hope this is helpful, I'm trying to use this as my new lead to work on... hope I will have followers.

I'll follow too. Actually I've been busy with the cache yesterday evening, entered al passwords I could find, all first letters from the flasbook messages and stuff... Hopefully this will work out! I also like the theory mentioned by stumpelgeo:

Just a random thought --

If the writing in the guestbook at Hilbert's is Jon's, he mentions that everything about his stay is noted in his journal -- that leaves two options -- either we haven't found a hidden clue in what he has already written, or there is another password to the cache, maybe unlocking the entries for the month of November.

Keep up the good work,

Janis x

I found the 'problem' notice which was used after entering the next cache code was indeed a server problem... from now the cache can be used again... talked about the new code, that is... access to confer and ibidem was always granted..
We can try to use our 'password tries' again... i guess...

(hope people can follow me here... LOL)

From Jon's email
Quote:
Be advised, ibidem is not entirely sufficient as a password, for it leads to as
much error as truth (although mistakes can be extremely revealing).

Have we gained anything from mistakes by now?
The Cache is the only place where it says "please try again later" (and not to "think harder"). From that I conclude that there will be further entries in the journal...

Guess it means I'll follow as well... Confused

revealing mistakes

the revealing mistakes were the differences between the dates "under ibidem" and "under confer": those led us to the code for the phone.

Interestingly, I found a webpage in which the words 'ibidem' and 'confer' appear right next to each other.
http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/latinonline/sc1/latin_english/latin_english_1.htm

Note the latin word for 'from the beginning' = ab initio (abbreviated to ab init)

Strikes me as being similar to 'ends where it begins'.

I also think that we won't be able to type the password into the cache until it stops displaying the message 'We're having problems at the moment, Please try again later'. The game just hasn't been updated yet.
