Yeah, cool....
...but this just confirms what we were suspecting.

So, how do we use that clue/confirmed-suspicion now?

Yeah, it's clear we are on the right track, I'm just not sure where to proceed. I'm having trouble finding the sheet music for Radio GAGA so I can see what notes are played.

The amount of clues are overwhelming now to use radio gaga..

GAGA at the bottom of face 3..
this clue...
the Keep yourself alive clue...
a pun on the word "numbers" in face 2...
reverse 52 meaning queen..

Anyone have any ideas what to do with Radio GAGA to get a solve for face 3?

I've been matching up the number array to the lyrics of the song (like the Beale code). But so far there is nothing coherent coming from this (maybe next I'll try letters).

Other ideas; are that it's a block type cipher, and once the columns are in order it will make more sense.

I know its already been pointed out that 2 and 9 are the only keys initially out of order, but I also noticed that they also do not have the number 999 in their area. So maybe they are of extra significance. Alternatively they are nulls and should be ignored- I don't know.

You think the "forest for the trees" phrase in the wordfind is a little poke at us? Rolling Eyes Laughing

On a slightly diffferent note, I've attached the lyrics for "Radio Gaga" just in case anyone might find them useful.

Maybe it's a reverse beale cipher.

aznxasazn,

Yep, free sheet music is hard to find on the internet. If you think you need the actual sheet music, then I would suggest stopping by your local library and perusing the music section. Most libraries carry loads of sheet music in book form. A sheet music book like Queen Anthology shouldn't be too difficult to find. If you're desperate, I guess you could also try your local music store.

Another alternative would be to download the midi of "Radio Gaga" such as this one here and open it up with a free midi editor such as Anvil Studio. You'll then be able to view it as notes on a staff.

Conveniently, Radio Ga Ga has 276 words, and the highest number in the matrix (besides 999) is 263. So, I numbered each word of the lyrics and filled in the matrix with the corresponding word. It's the only thing I've tried so far that made even the remotest bit of sense. (I also tried using each number as a line/letter or line/word coordinate, but that just got messy when you consider numbers that start with two zeros!)

Anyway, I'm not getting anything out of my word-matrix yet, but I thought I'd share it and see if you guys see something useful.

EDIT: You might want to check over the spreadsheet before you use. I haven't had time to double-check for spelling and incorrect lyrics--working on that now.

It may have something to do with the words that are not there, the numbers out of 276 that are not mensioned.

Have you tried an ASCII code with GAGA as the Keyword?

well, i thought maybe putting the numbers in order would give a tune, but, lo and behold, doubling and triplnig up... still working on it.

also, 999. in a statistical analysis, or listing of grades, or, whatever, iff 999 is not a possible entry, then it is usually refferenced as a way of saying no data available, did not participate, was absent on this day, ect. they are blanks.

Yay! Very Happy I found a MIDI of Radio Gaga and Keep Yourself Alive (you know, just in case)! Unforunately, I can't seem make that Anvil Studios program mentioned earlier to work for me, so here's hoping one of you can do it better than I. I'm also quite confident that this might be the last step to the solve, After all, there's not much more information we can extract from Radio Gaga (which is wht every single clue points to, so far) that I can see, anyway.

Wow. My first real contribution to this ARG Smile

Hm. Ok. I can keep looking, but I have to know what to look for, then. So we want Radio Gaga, but with piano accompaniment? Or a piano version of the it? Confused

I don't do a lot with this game, but the sound file had me really interested. I put it into Audacity, a free audio file editor, and noticed that it looks like the file itself was run through some sort of mask--it's at regualr intervals, so it's not something that looks like it was naturally made. If we could find that particular effect, we might be able to reverse engineeer it. I tried deleting parts of the file in hopes that it would make more sense, but it's just noise.

The reason I used Audacity is because it has a Change Pitch function, which I thought would be helpful due to the voice changes on the file. It changes pitch with musical references, though--so I could go from a G to an A, as in GAGA Wink I though that would help, but alas, it hasn't done much. Has anyone else tried directly editing the file?

You're talking about the 'voice' that happens after you correctly arrange the keys, correct? I'm pretty sure that's been dismissed already as it's the same sound heard on face 1 when you press the correct keys and face 6 when you enter 'there' into the crossword. So, anyway, I doubt it's for this face if they place in on those faces as well. It's probably just to confirm you did something right.
