The Fogo place may be more of a big dinner thing

Dinner is more expensive. I don't know exactly how much it is, but I know it costs more. Since it's pretty expensive already for my tastes, I prefer to have lunch there. In Brazil, I can go to smaller churrascarias and pay around $5-10/person, so paying $50 is a lot to me! Laughing

Unless something really bad happens, I'll be there on Friday lunch time. I've been planning to go there for quite sometime, it just never worked out! With beekeepers, even better! Smile

I am SOOO looking forward to that kind of thing again when I head there in April! I'll probably find one for lunch every day. That and pao de queijo galore and suco de cana (sugar cane put through a press so you can drink it) by the liter! Food (though not the normal rice and bean slop) is one of the things I miss the most from Brazil.

A $50 lunch is ludicrous, even if it's really tasty. I'm down for some pizzas as far as food goes. Y'gotta remember that we can't blow all of our dough on this weekend, because ARG Festocon is about a month and a half after that. So, let's try to be a little conservative.

Here, I'll put it more plainly: I am all about structuring portions of the weekend so that we can all see each other and hang out.

But -- Friday lunch is awfully early, and certainly not conducive to everyone being there all at once, to really make it a 'planned' event for the Hivemeet proper. waters would like to go to Fogo de Chao and blow the money. I would like to go to Fogo de Chao and blow the money. Anyone else who wishes to join us is welcome to also blow some money on endless plates of meat and the salad bar. If you don't want to, that's totally cool. We can all keep in contact just like we did during the game, and connect when we need to, once we're done.

Guys, I'm not suggesting a beekeeper lunch at Fogo de chao! I just stated *I* was planning to be there and if anyone wanted to join me, you're more than invited! This won't even go to Phaedra's web site as part of the Hivemeet!

I guess it was a bad idea to post about this here ... Rolling Eyes

waters, I think you should post any and all suggestions for fun things to do whilst here. We will all gravitate during the 'unscheduled' times to what we would like to do.

Whether you do something because of the thing itself, or who's going to be there, that's definitely your prerogative!

Most definitely NOT a bad idea little buddy...

Hey, I was just thinking. Krystyn kinda mentioned keeping in touch while we're there... and for some reason, I can't imagine why, my ears perked up.

I know we'll have planned, set in stone, no doubt about it 'events' going on. Dinners, lunches, plays, whatever, BUT there will also be a ton of time for people to split up, hang out, check out the city, that kind of stuff. So, I was thinking, why don't we get a list of phone numbers and such where we all can be contacted over that weekend, compile it into a list, and print copies so everyone can contact anyone else. Then, at the end of the weekend, we'll collect all the pages and burn them ceremonially.

Or, if we're worried about losing the papers, or people just don't want to carry them, I can give everyone my number, and everyone can give me their numbers, then, if you need someone, you call me and I'll give you the number you need. I can be the OP... Wink

I can also be a central contact point, since so many of you are already used to bombarding me on XBL with invites and messages. Smile It'll seem like second nature. Hee hee.

Nah, it was a good idea IMO. I'll definitely be up for the Fogo lunch.

Also, it's not 50 bucks for lunch. Probably more like 30, which is still a lot for lunch, but its totally worth it. It's like a meat orgy.

I knew a strict vegetarian in the Marshall Islands. He used to say, "I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals. I just really hate plants."
That's a pretty good f'ing reason!

On the assumption that I go (which is kinda a big leap right now, but I'm hoping) I'd be down for the Fogo carnivore lunch. It'd be interesting.

-- Steve'd probably go for a leaf of lettuce that evening for dinner.

Seconded.

I'm still amazed by the amount of time it took for me to link the two...

Doh.
