The more I see of this stop the elevator group, the more I think it's not Orbital Colony. There's more of a humorous tone to what's going on at the group (ex. the insanely long acronyms). It doesn't really fit the tone set by the OC trailer. That was more dramatic and serious. But, who really knows what's going on with those crazy PMs :

I tend to agree, but it's still funny to watch.

krystis88 is me. My friends think that it is a strange address (It's kinda hard to explain if you don't know Swedish, but it is a really strange address). I don't know what to say about the Yahoo group. Let's wait and watch.

The other thing we have to remember is that if OC is anywhere near to starting, this would be an absolutely perfectly coincidental way of introducing their project even if the Yahoo group isn't IG.....so I still think it's important to keep an eye on them.
Besides, I still think it's funny stuff......

So does anyone know if the "space elevator" is ingame or not, cause i'm ready for a really cool sci-fi ARG to start after waiting so long(orbital colony).

Well as far as the Yahoo group goes, I think the jury's still out. As to the Williamsburg Warriors, we tend to think it's OOG (butchaneverknow).
Would have been a way cool comencement, but even if FETSEotN is what the NY Sun makes them out to be......I still think it's a great launch op for the PMs so will be keeping an eye on it along with orbiconcorp.com and orbicon.org.
Mostly though we'll just have to wait-n-see.......
If you're asking about the space elevator itself, there is plenty of supporting material on the web and some real companies/individuals interested and dedicated to making it happen (and not).

So I sent a blank email to Williamsburg Warriors and they sent it back to me like I sent it to myself, so yeah don't know what to make of it, and trust me it wasn't my error.

The WW site has changed a bit, new graphic at the bottom to "join up" (doesn't work though).
I believe the top pic has been renamed "nunrescue".......so now we know where the image is from (not that it matters one iota....lol), and we also now know what's up with the big blue smiley.
They're images from the movie "Rollerblade ".
Quote:
It takes place in the hazy future where maybe only twenty people and a nice big hot tub are left after some mysterious apocalypse or other. There are maybe eight Holy Sisters who worship a big blue glowing light bulb with a smiley face on it (crank it baby!!!).
Yup, I highly doubt this is IG.....this site was found via a posting at Yahoo, they probably ended up there after seeing the flyer (like I said earlier, their site is more about rezoning efforts than elevators)
But I'll still be watching the Yahoo group....maybe Igor will make a cameo.

Well now I guess I understand why they've used the Rollerblade image.
The Williamsburg Warriors are (were?) a member of the East Coast Division of the Major League Roller Hockey Association, and at least until January of last year their site was about the team and sport of Roller Hockey. This is what their site used to look like.
Now both sites (.org and .com) are reg'd to the same person as of Jan15/05, and I would say maybe someone new (not in the rollerblading loop) had scooped the domains up, but then why the rollerblading image on the site at all?
Strange.....veddy strange.
Anyone (GMonger?) know anything about whether or not the team is still a team, have they disbanded, or have they hung up their wheels to fight the good fight?

update from the Sunday NY Times This thread may be moot due to the ARES station thing that started, but I thought you might be interested in an article I read in the Sunday NY Times which talks about the Williamsburg Warriors. They are real, they are not part of a game. But they seem like fun people so maybe I should invite them to ARGFest?
this is the tinyurl'ed link - you have to log-in to read it though.

Seems that www.orbitalcolony.com has (finally) been updated. A pretty little picture that asks whether or not you want to peak behind the curtain. I assume that with a warning like that, there has to be some spoilers or something going on there, so I'm going to steer clear for the time being. But for all you kids who don't mind having the ending wrecked...

Just as I suspected, it just links to the old orbitalcolony wbpage with 2 updates;
The first one is that the logo has been changed to the logo of Orbicon Corp.
The second is that a question has been added to the FAQ asking if u can be visually impared and still enjoy the game.
So there's no spoiling going on in that page, feel free to browse ^^

I rather like what they have done, I am very much in favor of an iron curtain policy when it comes to ARGs and would much rather play an ARG being immersed in it than by talking about "the PMs must be thinking this" or "the PMs are doing that". I realise that this game will be somewhat different due to the fact that it is a PM-training ARG and we sort of kind of know how it started and by whom, but stressing the fact that ourbitalcolony.com is META and out-of-game is a nice thing to do.
(It also proves they did not "lose the password" and that "soon to be launched ARG" is still the correct status for OC)

See the blips in the starfield???
The constellation Leo?
A fleet of invading Aliens?
Trout away and educate me if it's not a new issue.

I'm not saying no as such but i thinking the phrase ''jumping the gun'' comes to mind,to be perfectly honest they are probably just asteroids or metorites but you never know it could be this but again i can't se it being this!
