It was unnerving... like talking to an actual person.
I thought very often that maybe this was real, that he was crazy.
Or that I was.

I sincerely doubt that he's crazy. But then again, you never know. He's just someone on the other end of a computer.

Judging from Xanga, however, he IS in college studying filmmaking...maybe he's a writer in real life?

The 7 p.m. target seems to be the next big thing, but since I'm a paranoid bastard, I wanted to ask a few redundant questions for the purposes of edification.

1) We have someone to get the phone, right? I know lots of us can't get there, but someone *is* going to be there, right?

1a) Does said someone have a recorder?

2) Are we sure it's 7 p.m.? We're doing our math right, got the time of posting correct, figured times zones into the factor, etc.?

I'm also going to add my AIM name to my info here and see if I can't get a ping on the old ARG sonar. I hope so--I'd hate to be following this the whole time and not be able to get involved. =)

Kid Twist:

1) I have *no* idea, but I suppose we're sending Siren's sister

2) see above

3) I did the math (or lack thereof) from the 115 hour mark, and have *no idea* if its right (another possibility seems to be 9) But 7 is when the lady on the phone said to meet again...

Well, we're as prepared as we can ever be, I guess. I hope whoever's running this ARG makes plans to call NW Ohio. Heck, if they leave me a message, I can give them my cell phone number. =)

I'll keep combing through the Xanga. There's something about the early posters that makes me suspicious. Might as well try and get some extra details, if possible. =)

has anyone looked for clues on the church website, under the prayer list you can click on the image of the girl praying... has anyone checked to see if there was anything encrypted in it?

Actually it says it was updated yesterday so there might be more there if this sight is actually connected

First things first: Miss Kiddo RULES! Very Happy
(and as always I missed the whole action... stupid, stupid day out with my wofe's parents, grrr... Evil or Very Mad )

Possible significance of the name Ecclesiastes?

As far as I know, Ecclesiastes (or Qohelet in the original Hebrew) means "He who speaks in front of the assembly". As always happens with biblical words, interpretations may vary, but in any case it's about speaking up, speaking for a group. Some superficial or very sinthetical translator/interpreter simply translates as "the preacher", quite inapppropriately.
Connection with "Synagoga"? Well, two possibilities:
1) if ""ecclesiastes" is just there to mean "ecclesia", the German site you already mentioned is pointing in the right direction: Ecclesia and Sinagoga represent CHristianity and Hebraism, the "long-divided twin sisters".
Definitely fascinating, but I really think ythat, if that was the right direction to look into, it would be just "ecclesia" and not "ecclesiastes". [Thanks, Occam Very Happy ];
2) what do "Ecclesiastes" and "synagoga" have in common? Well, both are elements coming from the Hebraic religion, but, more important imho, we can easily connect them in a subject->place relation: the sinagogue is the place where the ecclesiaste does his thing ( id est, the temple where the preacher/speaker preaches and speaks for the assembly).

Just my two cents.
ps: damn I'm so pissed i missed all that!
pps: this Lenny thing is giving me such good vibrations! Smile
ppps: did we already knew that Lenny's dad is stationed at Mcclellan?

M.
