Fat Cow Motel - First Episode Review

ok, my non-Australian lovelies, the pilot episode of this interactive mystery series has just screened and I am, as we speak, surfing through the FCM website (www.fatcowmotel.com.au) trying to collect enough "game points" to receive my first letter of the Twins' password.
It actually is more fun than it sounds.
You do have to register, but it's free and relatively fast, and you get the option to do so the first time you find a "clue". I'm *not* sure whether it will work for you international players, since it asks for an address, but I have registered for the full clue-option compliment, including emails and SMS messages, which I will forward on to you.

Ok, so where are we at the moment?

Fat Cow is a small town out the arse end of nowhere. It has a population in the low hundreds, and its one real link to the outside world is a satellite interent connection. The local butcher is a hopeless meat-massacre-ing butterfingers, the local sherrif is a mirror-sunglass-wearing, gritted-teeth tough guy and there are two mysterious Swedish twins who seem to know more than they let on...
And now, into this quiet little speck on the map comes the bizarre *second* death of 70's rock star Rory Toogood. Long believed to have died in Ohio in 1977, a man claiming to be the aged popster has been found dead in room 13 of FCM, his last confession on a handily nearby videocamera.

Arriving to investigate this whole sordid affair is Jack, a reporter. After only one day of snooping around, he claims he can prove that the dead man in room 13 is *not* Rory Toogood, and that he knows the dead mans true identity.

So head over to the Fat Cow site and snoop around, see what you can find. Fom initial impressions, this looks like it is pretty well planned and should actually be pretty cool.
Can I please request an official forum section be made for it, please? If I get the chance to leave any kind of message to other players on the FCM site, I'll direct them here.
That's it for now, I have to go log my newly-found email clue and read thrrough some hacked messages, courtesy of the Twins!

Actually, scratch that idea about the separate forum section, maybe.
Seems that each episode of the show is its own little self-contained puzzle (or set of puzzles, actually). I just solved this weeks mystery. It's really not difficult at all, especially to survivors of where.gif like us, but it *is* a fun little distraction for an hour or so. And the various sites *are* very well made and pleasant to look at. And there are fun things to download fron tHe tWiNs.
And truth be told, I still haven't found all the "bonus points" yet which go into a players grand total over all 12 weeks of the series. Apparently the highest pointscorer after that time wins some kind of prize.
Anyhoo, all Aussie unfiction fans are encouraged to check it out. I've enjoyed myself, and they make clever use of "mouseover" events, but that's the only clue *I'll* give......

Smile

I found an unlinked image in the timeline.

Probably not significant given the relative simplicity of this game, but it sure was fun poking around the website!
