thanks Seej

Seej, thanks for sending me the PM-

I had no idea I created a legend about myself in simply becoming busy.
So yes, finals went well, thank you for asking, and since then I've been hanging out with God, unicorns, Elvis, and the Cube.

Kristen

Not a legend exactly....more of a puzzled glance.

Wink

You seemed very gung-ho about this, and I just wondered where you had gotten to.....

This isn't an inquisition, but I do wonder why you didn't say anything about the unknown woman leaving the cards at the study table in your first post - instead of "I got them from a friend".

And where did you get access to high-powered opthalmologist's equipment anyway.....lol

Laughing

That must have been an interesting Doc visit......"Excuse me doc, I think I have something in my eye, could you check it out. Oh and by the way can I borrow this [insert name of high-powered eye equipmemt here] to check out this cryptic postcard that was left at my study table by an unknown person.....you see I'm trying to find this cube thing."

Kristen, in all seriousness, you don't owe me or anyone else an explanation of anything. If truth be told, I was really hoping to find something - anything - within the text or context of your posts that would help us out.

Cheers girl.

I suspect if the players didn't know then nobody would know Smile Probably not common though. Especially given the forum rules someone else already mentioned:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6859

Still, seems like something that a puppetmaster would be tempted to do especially in this exact type of situation....

Not someone who posts in *this* forum. No in-game characters are allowed to post here, and UF is effectively not supposed to exist in the game world.

There are those who disagree with this opinion, and that was why Immersion Unlimited was set up - to be a board that can exist in game.

well well well

Opth office: I walked in and showed so much excitement and enthusiasm that the woman behind the counter couldn't help but become involved in what I was doing. I really just walked right in, she wasn't busy, and we had a ball. I don't know why that had to be so difficult-? I really think people are quite keen to have some fun to break up the monotony of everyday office life.

And the finding of the postcards... christ almighty, it's the biggest mystery on here when in reality it was a simple thing. I found them, I posted them. What's to confuse/question/search?! I don't get you folks.

Since this game hasn't started yet, I've just resumed ordinary life. This includes organizing a campus movement for greater aid and awareness of the crisis in Sudan. Somehow 6,000 people dying every month for the most backwards of reasons has taken priority...

Good luck trying to find some more stuff from nothing. Seems to me to be a bit like squeezing water out of rocks.

I'm not confused at all. I was simply curious as to why you said in your first post that you discovered Perplex City through a friend, and then in your second "Let's just say the cards were given to me..." and then in your third, that someone unknown to you left them at a study table.

It simply gave me cause to pause. You apparently had a stack of cards in your possession, and the method you said you received them was inconsistent (as far as I could tell). I know the protocol of these forums, but it's not unheard of for someone inside the loop to post information meant to be progressive to the game itself.

So no, no real mystery.

So I apologize if my mention of the possibility, has irked you in some way, it truly wasn't anything personal.

Simple bored postulation, which has now been put to rest.

And thanks for descibing the opth's office visit, that had to have been a royal hoot!

Very Happy

Shill be coming round the mountain when she comes...

Oneliiiivewire - I apologise in advance if you are, infact, a real person.

The language that you use, to me, sounds inauthentic, specifically the phrase "christ almighty". It's an impression, subjective, but I tested it here:

http://www.hti.umich.edu/m/micase/

This is a concordancer - a language analyser. This one analyses spoken American English.

The phrase Christ almighty did not occur. Now this does't prove anything. But it is pause for thought.

No, in this country, we tend to stick holes in them, put strings through the middle and hit each other with them.

Uh, I've used that phrase plenty. Surprised you've never heard it before. Personally, I believe Kristen is OOG (and I mean that in the nicest possible way) and is probably feeling a little weird that we're all discussing whether or not she exists Wink

But you're in Yorkshire. If you are an American then that alters my point but only slightly. My point was that Kristen, the enigma, is American. It didn't sound like American English to me, it sounded like someone trying to sound like an American. So I tested my theory. The "Christ almighty" jarred - so I used the concordancer to see if it occureed much. In their samples of spoken American English christ and almighty didn't turn up at all. Now this is not conclusive as the sample is obviously limited to however many words I said it was.

Just a thought , just a theory, just a feeling. Just using my knowledge to contribute what I can.

Sorry, Kristen, no offence intended.
