nice to meet you Nabisco. Do you actually live on Christmas Island, the one with all of the crabs?

I think that all of the Lombartech login screens are hardcoded to not work right now, so I doubt trying to hack anything would be of use.

I found the "Latest Threats" page to be interesting. It lists 3 fake security threats: Killed The Cat, Hurricane Khalil, and dIIdny.exe. I wonder if there's something to the executable, if not the others.

probably nothing but...

I was reading through the lombartech website and noticed this on the R&D page. It is probably nothing but though I'd throw it out there

Quote:
...the key word is CONSTANT VIGILANCE

the emphasis is their's. Could this be a password to the site or some such thiong? Anyways glad to have a new ARG to work on since Lenny crashed and died.

edit:
noticed a couple more things while poking around:
1) We do know at least one company that is working with lombartech- Microids!. Maybe we can find a password by poking around Microids site

2) Someone should apply for a job there, although it seems like a lot of work, writing a resmume and such. Maybe we could get access to the boards that way. I am a computer science major so I could make up a convincing sounding resume. What do you guys think, should I do it?

I was just about to post about CONSTANT VIGILANCE. It will probably be useful later. In the mean time, most of the images on the front page are .jpgs so i'm going to get stegging... perhaps i'll start with the picture of a key! Makes sense to me.

I sent an edited version of a resume I found on the web, maybe it'll be enough.

BTW, I'm new here so nice to meet you all. I hope to contribute to the group Smile

Id's and access codes and stuff:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the "in game" trailer. I was able to jot down the numbers on Victoria McPherson's BeSafe access card last night. I don't have it here though so I can't post it now. I think this is going to be a key of somekind in pre-launch... Why else would that put it in there?

Just my personal opinion and speculation.

I haven't really read into the game too much so I'm don't actually know Victoria McPherson is... Presumably the detective though. Anyway, these are the nubmers on her card

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The main code number reads:
6546 816156 66313

A smaller code in the bottom right corner reads:
2ADG 13122AH

On the other side of the card, some numbers have been written:
583

Also written are the words:
No Vodka...!?

You may want to check those, I'm fairly tired and might have copied them down wrong. I also downloaded the smaller trailer so it's not as detailed. As can be mistaken for Rs, for example.

edit: Axys has corrected me, se below.

Just a little clarification of the above

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's 2ADG 13122RH, not 2ADG 13122AH. Also, the first code ends in 66323, not 66313

Don't think we're gonna get very far with the login. Looking at the source code on the page after you click "Login", it's hardcoded to give you an error whenever you hit submit. I'll check the others just to make sure

As I Thougth! Thanks.

I'm not sure if those codes and numbers will be any use in the ARG as those screens are taken from directly in game... And also, ARGs don't usually refer to themselves as fiction... I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think we may have a launch date for the ARG...

Below is a responce to my CV.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in our company.

We are in the midst of determining a plan of action for our newly opened
offices in Canada and as such we are not at present actively looking for new
additions to our World Wide Corporate Citizenship. However, rest assured
that your CV will be kept on file for when invitations to join us resume.

We anticipate being able to advise interested Candidates of new and
intriguing opportunities some time in March.

Regards,

The Lombartech Human Resources Department

March? Seems like it to me... 17 days!

Good job Strings, hopefully there is still some more pre-game stuff to do before March. I bet there is still some more ingame websites/ stuff on lombartech to discover before then though. At least I hope so seeing as how some other arg's *cough *cough perplexcity seem to have unending delays

Coma

In the "latest threats" page: http://www.lombartech.com/Latest_Threats.aspx

Look at the last period, just after "neutralizing it"; it flashes in an irregular pattern.

Now this might have been some simple xhtml or javascript effect, but according to the sources, it's made in Flash. Now it'd have been surprising for the web designer to do such a simple thing in Flash if the pattern wasn't significant.

If you take the portion of the address of that flash file in the sources and paste it into the URL, you get a much larger version.

Edit:
I've transcribed this:
.. .. .-.. . -. -.-. . .. ... --. --- .-.. -.. . -. .- -. -.. .--. .- - .. . -. -.-. . .. ... .- ...- .. .-. - ..- .

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It translated to: SILENCE IS GOLDEN AND PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

Geez, that's a very easy to miss detail. Good catch!

About the above spoiler:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
(Curiosity) killed the cat, Patiences is a virtue, silence is golden...these are all proverbs. Perhaps Curiosity or Proverb is a keyword to something

Excellent job Guizzy! It takes an amazing eye to spot that. Worshippy
[and I spent almost an hour transcribing it myself just to see in your edit that you already did it...]
It is very possible that "curiosity" or "proverb" or, well, something, is a password. Maybe good for destegging an image? I'll give a try on that page's images. After all, it's just 4.00 AM here...

EDIT: Tried to desteg the pics: thubs.gif, factory_banner.gif, LibertyOS.gif, Lombartech_Corporate_Security.gif and Electronic_Security_Card_Be.jpg (all from the Latest Threats page) using as passwords "proverb", "proverbs" and "curiosity". No luck on that.
I heard somebody else was trying steganography all around the site's pics, I hope he has more luck than me.

M.
